    Underemployment also up, to 19.0%

    by Dennis Jacobe, Chief Economist

PRINCETON, NJ -- The U.S. unemployment rate, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is 9.0% in mid-February, up from 8.6% for January. The mid-month reading normally reflects what the U.S. government reports for the entire month, and is up from 8.3% in mid-January.

    U.S. Unemployment Increases in Mid-February

Obama policies still a failure. "Winter of recovery" another in a long line of economic nonperformance events.

A... already a thread or two on this.

B... the Gallup numbers, while they do generally reflect close to what the BLS numbers will be, is still not seasonally adjusted, so there could still be a difference between the BLS numbers and this.

With Gallup at 9.0, I'm thinking BLS numbers in mid-March will be about 8.8

The real telling number is the one showing Americans actually EMployed. It is the lowest in many years. It is hard to manipulate that number.

Sadly, I didnt think the decrease would last long. And im sure it will be higher with this gas price spike.

We cant fix our economy while ignoring the problem and spending money we dont have on political cronies.

Sure, that is the root of all our problems. Please change the broken record.
