You're right that there's more CO2 in the atmosphere now than ever recorded. The problem with the AGW argument is that even with all that CO2, the planet is not the warmest it's ever been. Pointing out how much CO2 is in the atmosphere right now, as compared to the past and past temperatures, does more damage to your argument than it does help it; as it shows that CO2 doesn't have the world destroying property that some people believe.

The earth was warmer when CO2 levels were MUCH higher in the past. But that was millions of years ago, and our ice core record only goes back 600,000 years.

And the world will not be destroyed, only changed.

But if the arctic methane kicks it, it could be a dramatic change.
