Trump...

You think "socialist ideas” can’t work in a democracy? :)
This is supposed to be a republic, not a shit eating democracy. The problem with socialist ideas Everything about him Has to be mandatory for everybody even though they can’t possibly work for conservatives.

In the South, there are more "Conservatives" on welfare than not. In fact, it's so bad that the northern richer states sends their poorer Red State Cousins money to keep them from blowing away from the first stiff breeze. And that includes SD where you live. Colorado is a purple state and we are financially well off yet we send money through the Federal Government to your state (among others) so that your state can at least pretend to be part of the nation.

I propose that each state keeps what they have and only sends the minimums to the Federals. Your state wants to play Deep Red, fine. That's up to you but you play it on your own dime. How long before SD, ND and Wyoming has to become on big state just to make ends meet.
The Indian reservations are a huge drag on South Dakota...

Not just the Indian Rezes. The Welfare in Rancid City is out of control. It's lost a whole bunch of jobs in the last 30 years. Any city who's sole income is from a Military Base is going to be a welfare city. Not just in SD, but everywhere. I have a bit more experience in seeing that than you do. And I have watched cities and towns lose their Military bases. Some actually thrive but most turn into ghost towns. Since Rancid City has run out it's primary corporate businesses, guess which way it will go.

Be careful, almost all of the Military Bases I have been stationed at have closed. If my luck holds out, Ellsworth may be next. And what then for you income? You are a bit old to learn how to make beads and baskets.
Actually the Black Hills area is growing more than it ever has, it’s real attractive to businesses that need low taxes. Out in rapid Valley and south of rapid city it’s exploding with growth. Ellsworth chosen as training base, first to receive B-21 nuclear bombers
I have not had better business...
Rapid City, South Dakota Economy

Notice, the increase would be from the addition of the B-21. But did you account for the long range loss of the B-2s? The B-21 increase is short sighted. And then that is only connected to the Military. No City the size of Rancid City should EVER depend strictly on the Military Base. Only Box Elder should do that. For those that aren't aware of the Population of SD, Box Elder is the Off Base Military Housing for Ellsworth AFB and it's the #3 largest city in SD in population.

There is a lot more to Rapid City than the Air Force Base, Basically box elder is a large trailer park.
When is the last time you’ve been here? The rapid city area is unrecognizable even from five years ago.

The Black Hills of South Dakota have become a Mecca for guns-and-ammo manufacturing. At last count, 32 firearms and ammunition companies were doing business in the Black Hills.

They range from Black Hills Ammunition, with more than 60 employees at its Rapid City facility, to several small companies that specialize in custom rifles.

Some of the firms are home-grown, but others have moved to South Dakota seeking a better business and regulatory climate that allows them the freedom to do business. HS Precision moved to Rapid City from Arizona in 1990 seeking lower taxes and fewer regulations. (South Dakota was the first state in the nation to pass legal protection for firearms manufacturers from lawsuits over injuries caused by guns.)

The Sturgis Industrial Park is home to the largest firearms manufacturing cluster in South Dakota.

A recent wallethub.com report listed South Dakota as eighth in the nation in terms of firearms industry jobs per capita.

I started a Band in the early 80s, and to this day it still exists. Okay, it's changed people a number of times. But I bet, to this day, I can walk in and be recognized as the founder. The last couple of times I passed through that was the case. And I bet the house I owned is still there. IT was 10 years ago. You may not recognize it but I can bet I would. You only see the new things. I will see the old places as well.

Compromise has never worked for the GOP establishment, because they are not conservative never have been.
The eradication of the GOP establishment would be a very good thing

I suggest you look into Ike's time as well as Truman's time. One a Rep and the other a Dem. I think I would call that the golden time for both parties. And there was a ton of compromise from both with each other. The inroads made from that time was grand. To this day, we are still building on what was done back then. Unfortunately, the day of the Statesman has died and the day of the "I want it MY Way" is where we are today.

The incredibly low tax load of the area is irresistible to new business, I live about 100 miles north west of Rapid City as the crow flies. I make it to Rapid City somewhere around once a week or a bit more. Every time I go there I see new businesses being built.

Best thread ever
Yep,
There would be no Trump if there was no Obama… I think Obama once said elections have consequences?

Actually, there was going to be a Rump regardless. All Obama did was delay it. I saw a severe breakdown non Nov. 8th 2008 and just get worse after that. But the seeds were already there. Much of the same would have happened if a Woman were to have been elected then as well. And heaven forbid, a Black Woman.

I saw what I through were perfectly balanced people all of a sudden start talking about hoping someone would shoot the President. They would never come out and directly way they would do it themselves. And I am retired Military and served under some very unsavory Presidents. When I stated, "Like him or not, He's MY president and no one shoots my president". I lost some very long time friends over that and have never talked to them since by their choice. And then Rump comes along and it just gets worse.

Rump is not the problem. He's the symptom. And we need to treat the symptoms. And a pill or a shot won't cure those problems until we start treating the symptoms. This is why I say, ":No More Free Rides".

Who’s we, and who are you preaching to? You tried in 16, and have been crying [emoji22] since. You will lose again in 2020. But your team wants to fix the next election. You all lost. And nobody who voted for Don, is flipping over for whatever Humperdoo the dims serve up. Things are too good. No more free rides, agreed. For able bodied Obama ass lickers. That shit is over.

When Trump was elected my biggest fear was that he was going to do just like Reagan, Bush Senior and Junior did, bend over and let progressives Dominate him, That he didn’t.... refreshing. Lol

I know his personal beliefs are along the lines of Democrats, but the fact remains he governs more conservative than any career politician in modern times.
It's amazing how many Republican talking points Trump has forever taken away from them.

With his brazen whoremongering and serial adultery, Trump has amputated the Right's moral legs at the hip.

He has doubled the federal deficit to a trillion dollars.

He has started a far left protectionist racket with his tariff war which has hurt manufacturers and farmers and brought the nine year rise of the Dow to a screeching halt.

He has provided a bailout to the farmers which is currently running at twice the auto bailout.

Comrade Donald has surrendered the Middle East, Turkey, and the Ukraine to Russia.

And now Trump has completely exploded the Republican talking point that decreasing taxes increases revenues.

Christ, it's almost as if a far left Democrat figured out the best way to destroy the GOP was from the inside...

Comrade Donald is helping a KGB thug to rebuild the former Soviet Union's empire which Reagan worked so hard to dismantle.

He's a fucking traitor.

The GOP establishment needs to be destroyed because they don’t represent any conservatives/libertarians. That is the whole point of Trump being in there

Trump is not worthy to hold the reins of Reagan's horse while Ronnie takes a piss.
Lol
Ronald Reagan career politician and was for open borders… LOL
...And don’t forget he was for firearm confiscation
