Trump wins 60 percent approval in rural areas of key states

she insulted a nation of indians, and you think she's a good candidate. wow.

Don't you know? Liberals only demand tolerance from their opponents. But they are free to all the assholes they want to be.

At the rate trumps policies are working, there won’t be enough farmers left to matter..

More Bullshit from DeNARD.
Amid Trump Tariffs, Farm Bankruptcies And Suicides Rise

There has to be a reason why you don’t know these facts. Are you stupid? Are you just ignorant? Or have you been living out in a weed patch somewhere and don’t know what’s going on in the country? There’s got to be a reason.

I think she is a populist, a real one, not a demagogue like the douche in the White House now. I have to say when Warren first jumped in, while I agree with her policies I didn't like her as a candidate. I was concerned that she may be perceived as Clinton 2.0 or come off as some far left socialist (ignoring what the wingnuts say, they thought Clinton was a communist). She has made it a point to have a plan for damn near anything, which is the polar opposite of Trump who never seems to have a plan, at least not one he sticks to.

I think she can do it, I just hope she doesn't try to come up with "clever" comeback lines for Trump. Just call him an asshole, point out his many failings and for the love of god keep talking about the middle class.

The Trump campaign would come back and nail her as a New England elitist, like was done with John Kerry. They'll bring up her $300k salary to teach one class at Harvard. And yes, they will bring up her Indian claim and while I agree it probably isn't a big factor at the end of the day, it is a negative against her credibility.

What I find sadly comedic is the idea of a billionaire and a millionaire trying to convince millions of middle class people they understand their daily struggles.
I understand what you're saying but she is not an elitist. Joey is right in that she is a died in the wool populist. At worst she is a William O Douglas to FDR, but while Douglas was the opposite of an elitist, he was pretty close to a socialist, or at least he viewed capital as needing a LOT of regulation.

What I don't know about her is whether she really has it in her to stand up to Trump. Joey is right that repeated explanations of her "Indian thing" are self-defeating. But she needs, imo, to have one public answer to Trump's attacks that is just about many families have their own family-narrative of where they came from. Her's has been that they are part of the Trail of Tears forced exodus. And she can say she's already discussed with native American groups if this was hurtful. And while she doesn't put Trump down for his own family history, the fact is that Trump himself claimed his family immigrated from Switzerland, and not Germany, and in fact the immigrant was a whore monger and his father a racist slum lord. But she won't put him down for that because people should be based on who they are, and not on their ancestors. And she's sorry if she ever gave an impression otherwise. And just refuse to comment further. and stick to her populist issues.
what has been her sacrifice then? being injun? fk can't make up the apologists in here. wow.

Fuck the indian thing, tonto. Warren grew up w/o Trump's silver spoon. Probably with less than Obama too, but that's not a real issue.
right? she used he injun thing to get freebiees, tonto.

I think Warren could win if she could channel a populist, and if she were capable of skewing Trumps racial fears and absurd personality

She insulted Indians by wanting to be one? That’s nonsense.

Even worse, Trump’s has insulted American Indians by taking one of their folk heroes and turning it into a slur.

Calling Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas is like calling a white American George Washington and meaning it as a slur.

Republicans are so racist they don’t even know when they’re being racist. Because it’s just who they are.

She insulted native americans by posing as if she shared what was done to their families. But that's something for them.
and anyone who knows what that means. It's called sacrifice, and I asked what it is she has? She escaped sacrifice by posing as an injun in college.
Trump has sacrifice so much to create jobs.

no you're not, you have no idea about what I believe or who I am. What my personal struggles have been. Indians are a people that have been oppressed and she dare compare herself to them. it's fking pathetic, I spit at her for it. She is a fkwad and a phony who's done absolutely nothing in her life. name one thing she's done for her constituents? one!!!

Correct, I'm not deflecting.

you have no idea about what I believe or who I am.

I can only take you at your word when you call Native Americans 'injun'.

What my personal struggles have been.

Really? As you denigrate a whole people your excuse is your own personal struggles? What a whiny bitch boy you are. Take responsibility for your choice of words.

Indians are a people that have been oppressed and she dare compare herself to them. it's fking pathetic, I spit at her for it. She is a fkwad and a phony who's done absolutely nothing in her life. name one thing she's done for her constituents? one!!!

She's actually spoken to them and apologized. You on the other hand probably have never had a conversation with one about the racist words you call them by. No, not you, you're to busy with your 'personal struggles'. What a total little baby. :21:

Well no. I've joked about before but to seriously think people in rural or urban communities are smarter or dumber than the other is kind of lame.
Yet many(most?) Lefties here make that claim very seriously.
Urbanites, at least those that have the ability to make the choice of where to live probably have more money than those in rural communities
Or maybe not. It costs money to own land and owning land is a good way to make a lot of money. You won't find many rural people living in small, cramped 1-2 bedroom apartments. I kinda tend to believe that all those people living in city slums and public housing or city folk commuting to the big city with both working to pay the bills can't have too much money.
My post however is about polling and to simply claim that Trump is popular with 19% of the country
When did his base shrink to only 19%? It has always been around 33-36%.
that should be his base in no way is a good argument that Trump overall is popular. Then to double down and actually throw a map up that has nothing to do with population just further demonstrates the insincerity of the OP.
Population is irrelevant. The map showed counties won. Counties add up to districts and districts add up to states, and presidential elections are 50 small STATE elections. So to argue whether Trump is "popular" or not, I saved some very interesting figures which puts things into better perspective, then you tell me Trump wasn't "popular" in 2016:

EC Trump Votes.png

The only thing I would take issue with is that the 1.5 million figure was either premature or a typo. It actually came out to be 2.8 million, but again, irrelevant because once you win a state, you've won the state, you cannot win a state MORE. The Founders were wise in their vision to design a system limiting a local mob from taking the voice and representation from vast districts of the country so that ALL parts of the nation have a voice.

It's what he's got. He or anyone can't debate that Trump term increased the earnings disparity between workers and capital. There are more jobs, that that was not a new trend, and the jobs are not the maftring bonanzas he promised. So, he has to deflect with race, socialist, muslim …..

But ignoring his trumplike efforts to deflect and change issues, I think the dems are left with Warren … unless Biden is right that most voters in dem primaries are not caught up on his old folky ways and loosenes with facts.

Personally, I think he'd be right on that IF he actually had positions that are progressive economically. Where does the money for more tuition aid come from? How about more money to at least improve on the Obamacare subsidies? Can we piggyback on the EU's IP protections with China? Can we get back in the Iran deal, with Iran and the Saudis making some deal in Yemen to actually stop killing kids?

The only thing I would take issue with is that the 1.5 million figure was either premature or a typo. It actually came out to be 2.8 million, but again, irrelevant because once you win a state, you've won the state, you cannot win a state MORE. The Founders were wise in their vision to design a system limiting a local mob from taking the voice and representation from vast districts of the country so that ALL parts of the nation have a voice.

Here we go confusing empty land for population when the topic of the OP is a poll taken of the population and not acreage.

I'm not insulted at all. to think the indians haven't been is your issue.

Have you called many of them 'injuns' to their face?

Also..nobody thinks you give a shit about Native Americans, went right over your head.
deflection noted.

I'm not deflecting, I'm point out your own hypocrisy. You're whining away for the feelings of Native Americans as you call them a racial slur.
no you're not,
Correct, I'm not deflecting.

you have no idea about what I believe or who I am.

Injuns - you might as well use the N-word.

Pocahontas - native American folk hero racists like to use to make fun of other people.

Keep working on it, you’ll figure it out. Like that bird on TV that keeps smacking his head against the window.
