Trump: “We” Eliminated Roe

In 2019, Illinois took away the right to buy cigarettes from 18-year-old adults.
There’s no legal right to buy cigarettes for anyone.

You’re confusing the legal ability to do something with the legal right to do something.

There’s no legal right to buy cigarettes for anyone.

Why do you feel that way?

Where is the list of "legal abilities that are not rights"?

For the government. Not for individuals.

That’s why Woolworth‘s counter was still segregated years later.
1964 act extended it to private actors. Again, no Brown, no 1964 act. Brown took away the people's "right" to discriminate.

Brown didn’t apply to individuals so it is totally irrelevant to Title II of the CRA. The commerce clause allowed for it. Congress could have easily passed it before Brown.

Nope. Separate but equal was constitutional. Congress cannot not ban something that is constitutional.

Sure they can.

Online gambling is constitutional. Congress banned it in 2006.
LOL Really? They teach you that in your law school? Gambling is a Constitutional "right?" LOL

You said constitutional. Not a constitutional right.

Those are very different things.

Separate but equal was constitutional. Congress cannot not ban something that is constitutional.

Please try to be more consistent and not change your language in the middle of an argument.

It’s perfectly constitutional to gamble online. Congress banned it.

It’s also perfectly constitutional for businesses to discriminate. Congress banned it.

Roe v. Wade was judicial overreaching and it's good that it's been overturned, regardless of how you feel about abortion.

Those who don't trust democratic institutions with the question want Roe v. Wade back.

What other rights should we trust democratic institutions with?

This is not and never was about giving the states more power.

It’s about attacking abortion rights

And one day Trump says “Not me. I didn’t do that”

And the next he proudly proclaims that he DID do that

And bottom line. Trump and Republicans in general will not stop until abortion is outlawed everywhere and under every condition
You’ve been told your entire life there are abortion rights by your brainwashers. There is no and never were abortion rights.

It was Mitch McConnell who stacked the courts

Nope. A simple glance at the votes cast by each justice over the past 30 years proves the courts were stacked before Trumps appointees. It also proves the fairest justices by far were appointed by republicans.

There hasn’t been a Liberal majority on the court in 40 years

The Burger Court was the period in the history of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1969 to 1986, when Warren E. Burger served as Chief Justice of the United States. Burger succeeded Earl Warren as Chief Justice after the latter's retirement, and served as Chief Justice until his retirement, at which point William Rehnquist was nominated and confirmed as Burger's replacement. The Burger Court is generally considered to be the last liberal court to date.

My bad we've only been discussing Constitutional rights this entire conversation. I won't make that mistake again and overestimate your ability to follow along with a discussion.
