When I read his plan I thought it was a stroke of genius. The same States in which lobbyists are pushing hard for one payer healthcare but cannot find the money to fund their OWN state healthcare, will not have even less for Sanctuary Cities, anti-Trump funding and general globalist activities, including those with Canada and the Canadian security apparatus. On that note, notice how much less there have been of these activities now that Sessions and the WH were attempting to know where the funding for these anti-American activities was coming from? Want to bet alot of these donations are from foreign "allied" countries?
What does Trump lose in this? Nary a vote. Neither of these states were going to vote GOP regardless of what he did. "The Resistance" didn't do these states any favours did it?
Maybe all the late night talk show hosts can educate their viewers about fiscal management now.
So true. I was thinking how many are fleeing states like California due to many factors. Watch for more migration to states with lower cost of living. No state income tax locations will be all more popular
-GeauxThere you have it lefties. You get what you want. With the elimination of State income tax deduction places like New York and California which is where rich folk live, are going to see that perk eliminated.
You support the high state income tax in these states to support your liberal programs, don't expect the rest of the country to give you a pass anymore with state income tax exemption.
-Geaux
You are adapting the same standards of the left. It is our money. It is the people's money. No one is subsidizing anyone. It should be on the basis of what is fair. Is it far to tax people on the taxes they pay? Also it is not a credit but a deduction. Also the Trump tax plan is a built in tax increase. Unlike the standard deduction and personal exemption, the new standard exemption is not indexed to inflation. Also if you have a family of 4, you will see a tax increase as the standard deduction is less than the current standard deduction and personal exemption combined.
This is not about getting even. When you take the oath you do not swear to uphold the Constitution for states that voted for you.
How long before leftist meltdown when they realize that their money is also being taxed?
Oh wait....
You pay 4.25% in state tax. If you do not like Mi , leave the state and go to Texas. After all you hate being taxes.
When I see how much are state income taxes in CA or NY, I love MI even more.
Let's say this bill get passed, I have no problem with losing that deduction. In fact, it will prompt me to demand lower taxes in my state. The idea is, I think, to prompt people from high taxing states to do the same.
Mi will be going Democrat in 2018 and 2020. It would of in 2016 if not for voter suppression and extreme gerrymandering. We do not need a higher sales tax, leave the state tax where it is.
