Trump Tax Plan Sticks it to the Rich in NY and California

When I read his plan I thought it was a stroke of genius. The same States in which lobbyists are pushing hard for one payer healthcare but cannot find the money to fund their OWN state healthcare, will not have even less for Sanctuary Cities, anti-Trump funding and general globalist activities, including those with Canada and the Canadian security apparatus. On that note, notice how much less there have been of these activities now that Sessions and the WH were attempting to know where the funding for these anti-American activities was coming from? Want to bet alot of these donations are from foreign "allied" countries?

What does Trump lose in this? Nary a vote. Neither of these states were going to vote GOP regardless of what he did. "The Resistance" didn't do these states any favours did it?

Maybe all the late night talk show hosts can educate their viewers about fiscal management now.

So true. I was thinking how many are fleeing states like California due to many factors. Watch for more migration to states with lower cost of living. No state income tax locations will be all more popular

There you have it lefties. You get what you want. With the elimination of State income tax deduction places like New York and California which is where rich folk live, are going to see that perk eliminated.

You support the high state income tax in these states to support your liberal programs, don't expect the rest of the country to give you a pass anymore with state income tax exemption.

-Geaux

You are adapting the same standards of the left. It is our money. It is the people's money. No one is subsidizing anyone. It should be on the basis of what is fair. Is it far to tax people on the taxes they pay? Also it is not a credit but a deduction. Also the Trump tax plan is a built in tax increase. Unlike the standard deduction and personal exemption, the new standard exemption is not indexed to inflation. Also if you have a family of 4, you will see a tax increase as the standard deduction is less than the current standard deduction and personal exemption combined.

This is not about getting even. When you take the oath you do not swear to uphold the Constitution for states that voted for you.

How long before leftist meltdown when they realize that their money is also being taxed?

Oh wait....

You pay 4.25% in state tax. If you do not like Mi , leave the state and go to Texas. After all you hate being taxes.

When I see how much are state income taxes in CA or NY, I love MI even more.

Let's say this bill get passed, I have no problem with losing that deduction. In fact, it will prompt me to demand lower taxes in my state. The idea is, I think, to prompt people from high taxing states to do the same.

Mi will be going Democrat in 2018 and 2020. It would of in 2016 if not for voter suppression and extreme gerrymandering. We do not need a higher sales tax, leave the state tax where it is.

How "true"........Wealthy Californians are clamoring to move to Buttfuck, Alabama.

Can you imagine going from CA to Alabama , the most backwards and religious state in the US. I couldn't stand northern Georgia. Pretty though.

You mean states and local governments who overtax won't be able to steal from the Fed?

Awwww, too bad!

Lower you taxes, you fucking socialists.

Steal?

Those states still pay in more than they take in federal funding. In fact, they're at the bottom.

NY also loses 25% of our electric power im 2020, so Im going to be a former NYer if the tax plan goes through

You're forgetting that Republicans in Michigan won years ago despite of Democrat decades of gerrymandering. Suddenly, now when they're running the show, gerrymandering is a bad thing?

Second, even if what you say is truth, and it's not, gerrymandering have no effect on presidential elections.

Third, how many times Hillary campaigned in Michigan?

Eliminating deductions will also slap the middle and upper brackets.....

Considering that only three income brackets were proposed and all have lower rate then previous ones, there is no slap for middle income earners.
You have no way of knowing if your statement is true until we can see the marked up bill. Lower rates may not offset deduction elimination.
May not? So you are telling me I have no way of knowing if my statement is true until there is a bill, just to make a statement that there may not be an offset like you have way of knowing that is true? Let that sink in...
You don't know. You may suspect, but you don't know. Yes, you are right.
Greetings Jake

I don't understand this graph. Return on investment, meaning if a state is +$1.00 they bring a return on the use of tax dollars, if they are below they are a burden?

Oh yes they do. I see it where I live, the poor areas are grouped together, and they put white areas in. Don't tell me it doesn't make a difference. Also who ever is in control , makes the voting laws. Machines were backed up down in Detroit.

You also have the white nationalist in the upper lower Mi, and the UP. Trump went to Eaton Rapids and pretended he talked to blacks, no blacks there.

Just the opposite.
The graph represents the $ paid to the fed vs. what they receive in federal funding.
NY and CA receive less than a dollar of federal funding for every dollar they pay in.

Contrast those states that the OP and others claim are "stealing" because of the deduction with those states who have no state income tax. You will see that it is actually those states with no income tax that receive much more than they pay.

Seven U.S. states currently don't have an income tax: Alaska, Florida,Nevada, South Dakota, Texas,Washington and Wyoming.

You probably know, and in the case you don't I'll tell you, that districts are drawn by the party in power. For decades, MI districts were drawn/gerrymandered by the Democrats. Despite that Democrats drawn the lines, Republicans still won and took over the MI Congress and now they're in the control of drawing districts.

You call it gerrymandering, and even if it is, and it's not, its in their Constitutional power to do so, just as Democrats had the same power for decades. I call it, correcting the wrong. It seems, you didn't have problem with Democrats drawing districts as long they were winning, now suddenly it's wrong for Republicans to even have that right.

Hillary lost, got it?

Which is why it won't pass. Even Republicans in Blue states want to get re-elected.

Do you think the 14 Republican Congressmen from CA or the 8 Republican congressman from NY are going to vote for increasing taxes on their constituents?
As opposed to Democrats in red states always voting that way?

I hear you, but in 2012 the Pubs changed districts. Yes they won due to the ACA and tea party. In many states the politicians do not draw lines, and wi is at the supreme court now. We need to get rid of this law and also the EC. We will get a Dem Gov next time, mark my words.
As much as the UP is racist, they need their social programs.

Why do you think UP is racist?

You mean states and local governments who overtax won't be able to steal from the Fed?

Awwww, too bad!

Lower you taxes, you fucking socialists.

Nobody is stealing from anyone you right wing nut job. You know the one thing that states with the lowest per capita income have? They are dominated by Republicans.

You don't know enough about taxes to understand what the fuck I am talking about.

I am talking about the Fed removing the deduction for state and local income taxes, you left wing moron.

Ask your boyfriend to explain it to you.

I know a hell of a lot more about taxes than you do. Taxes are not a political weapon to be used against your enemies. You are the one who uses left wing ideas to support this. People keeping more of their hard earned money is not stealing.

Eliminating deductions will also slap the middle and upper brackets.....

Considering that only three income brackets were proposed and all have lower rate then previous ones, there is no slap for middle income earners.

We have no idea at what income levels these rates take effect at so you cannot say that. The new standard deduction is not indexed to inflation and if you have more than 3 people, you are getting less than the current standard deduction and personal exemption combined.

Trump's tax plan has zero chance of passing congress, members of congress worry too much about getting re-elected. The deduction for state income taxes isn't going away, neither is the deduction for home mortgage interest. The only tax plan that might pass would be a punish the rich tax increase plan.
