Trump slams CNN International — and journalists fire back

Bullshit. Everybody, and that's over 40 countries in Europe, the ME, Asia and Africa that I've been to, everyone carries BBC as well. Some have Fox, but not most. Why? Because outside the US, Fox is considered a joke. I've watched Al Jazeera, France 24, RT (from Russia), Sky News, BBC World, and others. Only Fox has a biased, obviously favorable presentation of Trump.

Yeah, Europeans would take one look at Hannity, Fox-n-Friends or Judge Jeanine and bust into uncontrollable laughter ;)
Uncontrollable convulsions would be more like it.

I think they find it rather appalling that a news agency could be so biased. They treated Obama very badly, whereas he was, and is, very popular around the world.

I have a cousin living in France - she and her family went to Washington DC last summer and watched some Fox News in their hotel room.

She thought it was satire at first, got addicted and LoL'd mightily. The French definitely despise The Donald.

The same France that is under martial law due to mass Islamic migration?
It isn't martial law. Macron is simply extending a 'state of emergency' :

"Last Thursday, France’s parliament voted to extend the country’s national state of emergency for the sixth time, leaving in place what has been its longest uninterrupted state of emergency since the Algerian War of the 1960s."

It is a response to terrorism. It is the way France deals with things. I was in France for 2 months in 2015. There is no martial like you are thinking. It is just a normal life. When France declares a state of emergency because of terrorism it is comparable to the US having the Patriot Act. It is comparable to the US spying on people they are concerned might be terrorists or linked to terrorism.

"Martial law is the imposition of direct military control of normal civilian functions of government, especially in response to a temporary emergency such as invasion or major disaster, or in an occupied territory. Martial law can be used by governments to enforce their rule over the public."

As I said, I stayed there for two months in 2015. The military had not taken over, there were no curfews, everything was normal, but the state of emergency was in force them. What it is meant to do is have the military take over civilian policing if there is a need. They stand at the ready.

France is not overrun by immigrants, though some ignorant provincials, i.e. RW nutjobs, in the US like to think so. I've been there many times over the past 14 years and have spent three entire summers there as well as winter vacations.

Everything is normal there. You are more likely to be the victim of an American made, white male, mass shooter at the mall, school, or cinema in the US than you are to be a victim of terrorism in France.

Sorry my bad, it's martial law "light". You have a declared state of emergency where you have the military everywhere, and all democratic rights and freedoms such as privacy have been suspended indefinitely. Looks like they got tired of being run over like human bowling pins in crowded areas.

All because of socialistic leftist nutjobs and their open borders policies. But, never mind, carry on, and vive la France! LOL

What a f*cking IDIOT we elected. What happens when murderous autocrat and Trump buddy Erdogan in Turkey sees something from a reporter there that he doesn't like? "Well Trump said that guy sucks so i tossed him in prison" (or worse). Don't miss Christine Amanpour's reaction. Her camerawoman took a bullet to the face in Bosnia. You're a sad little man Donald. :(

President Trump's latest broadside against CNN is drawing ire from journalists who say he misunderstands the very purpose of news coverage.

"This is another way that Trump recklessly hurts us in the world," said Baltimore Sun media critic David Zurawik on CNN's "Reliable Sources" Sunday.

A day earlier, Trump took aim at a new target: the network's international programming. His evening tweet tarred CNN International while also boosting Fox News, the president's favored organization.

"Fox News is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly," the president said. "The outside world does not see the truth from them!"

A few minutes later, CNN's public relations department fired back: "It's not CNN's job to represent the U.S to the world. That's yours. Our job is to report the news."

The tweet included the hashtag #FactsFirst, which is part of an ongoing marketing campaign by the network. It also amassed more than twice as many retweets and likes as the original critique.

CNN International is carried by satellite and cable distributors around the world. Most of its audience is outside the U.S.

Trump slams CNN International — and journalists fire back
It's obvious that you haven't traveled much outside of the US, where CNN has free hand to spread the same fake news, bullshit and lies it does domestically.
I have traveled outside the US continuously, without interruption, for the past 14 years. CNN does not spread false news. Trump is lying. He is angry at CNN because they give honest news about him, even if it is critical. Trump is against the free press. He is anti-American and wants to be a totalitarian dictator.
Yeah? What is CNN doing different abroad that it dies domesticallyy? Nothing. only difference is in many countries like Spain and France, CNN is the only American news channel their cable companies carry. Censorship is alive and well.

So to recap, Al Jazeera, RT (Russia News) and CNN are NOT considered "jokes" overseas, but...FOX is?!

Ha ha ha ha!

No more questions your honor, I rest my case,
"
So to recap, Al Jazeera, RT (Russia News) and CNN are NOT considered "jokes" overseas, but...FOX is?!" Yes. Correct.

The version you see domestically is not the same as what is broadcasted overseas, dufus. They carry some of the same flagship programs but most of the journalists are different. Like I said you haven't been overseas to see it.

You are mistaken - Tune in around 2 AM on a Saturday morning. I have also streamed it - straight NEWS
Yes, but overall most of the programming and the newscasters are different. However, it's the same fake shit, different newscaster.

CNN is in the back pocket of the Democrat party. But it's more than just that, there are other more sinister forces such as Soros behind their crusade as well. That's why they can withstand the ratings free fall. Like I said this will all change in 2018 when the Left's agenda will once again collapse.
"...overall most of the programming and the newscasters are different"

Absolutely untrue. Completely, totally untrue. You are so wrong.

You really, really, really DO NOT KNOW what you are talking about. When is the last time you were in France? How long did you spend there? There isn't military everywhere. I have been in various parts of the country. There is privacy just like in the States, except for the same type of surveillance the US Patriot Act does. Has absolutely nothing to do with socialism. You are just so deeply ignorant. Deeply.

I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY FOR CNN. This network all of last year, gave unending press to Trump, 24 hours a day. Every single second of Trumps campaign was covered by CNN. They even interrupted Obama, numerous times just to cover Trump's plane landing....his fuckin plane landing....They went after ratings, they got the ratings and now that this man has turned on them, they want to cry foul.....this monster, CNN created, now deal with it!!

Ya know that right there is a damned good point. Trump was like a train wreck the media (and it wasn't just CNN) couldn't take their eyes off of. So yes, they were largely responsible for creating a monster.

CNN started the Trump train to the white house and the other networks just followed suit...all just to get ratings...they never challenged a single claim he made, they never questioned a presidential candidate's campaign with no real plans or meat, just covered this moron for the sake of ratings. I saw first hand their impact and I was shocked to see Trump turn on them so easily.....still can't believe it....they gave this man more free press than any president in US history....it was absolutely sickening the way the salivated over this fool....so its only fair that they feel the sting of its effect. I have nothing for this network but the add, the seeds you sow, so shall ye reep!!

I was all over Spain last Summer and most Hotels did not carry Fox. I was in Italy the year before, and England and France before that. Italy carried Fox the most. The reason they don't carry FOX in France is obvious. They don't want people to hear how the Leftwing socialist lunatics in their govt. fucked them.

Bzzzzt wrong again. The Hillary campaign directed the media to promote and help nominate Trump, because they thought he was the easiest to defeat.

Hah! The same Al Jazeera and RT Russian news that are considered propaganda networks here in the US? In fact Al Jazeera has officially left the US.

You're excused.

Trust me, the Clinton campaign would have given its right arm for the press coverage CNN gave Trump....truth be told, I don't think they ever covered Hillary or Bernie...at least I don't recall.

Clinton and the Dems had decided that based on their own internal polls that compared a Trump to the other 17 candidates, he was the easiest to beat. So they instructed their lackeys in the media to cover all his rallies wall to wall. Suddenly when Trump became the nominee, the coverage was shut down, as expected. The only time they did cover him was to catch him saying something they could run a negative story on, as they do now.

Trump is as much a creation of the left as he is a representative of American anger and revenge over eight years of the disastrous Obama administration.

What a f*cking IDIOT we elected.

Sorry the affirmative action President is out of office and the crooked rape victim attacker who thought she could fuck her way into political power lost the election.

Furthermore; wikileals proved that CNN is nothing more than the ministry of propaganda for the DNC.

CNN is crap and tries to peddle itself abroad as the US news source. They even let Trump know that he had better be mindful of CNN's ability to shape opinion abroad. This is what CNN's president Jeff Zucker had to say:

"One of the things I think this administration hasn't figured out yet is that there's only one television network that is seen in Beijing, Moscow, Seoul, Tokyo, Pyongyang, Baghdad, Tehran, and Damascus — and that's CNN. The perception of Donald Trump in capitals around the world is shaped, in many ways, by CNN. Continuing to have an adversarial relationship with that network is a mistake."

Analysis | One problem with CNN’s defense against Trump’s latest attack

Sounds like CNN is threatening Trump.

It must be true because it was published in the Washington Post .... too fking funny.

.

"In a shocking New York Times opinion piece, CNN’s chief news executive Eason Jordan has admitted that for the past decade the network has systematically covered up stories of Iraqi atrocities. Reports of murder, torture, and planned assassinations were suppressed in order to maintain CNN’s Baghdad bureau.
