What it takes to forcibly OVERTURN an election is much more than what Trump did. Trump Challenged the outcome. Unfortunately that day the rally resulted in a Capitol building riot, however, just because that riot happened, it doesn't change the fact that it wasn't a crime to challenge the outcome of an election.

It's not the first time an election has ever been challenged, and every single time... one side calls the outcome Legitimate....and the other says it's illegitimate for reason X.

So the real problem here is the democrats trying to link Trump's protest rally with the riot on the capitol. Unless they have real proof that Trump personally planned a break in and overthrow of the government that point is moot. This has already been investigated by the FBI .

In the past evidence was looked at and no indictment. The evidence warrants an indictment in this case. An indictment does not mean he is guilty. The next step in our legal system is the DOJ provides the evidence, legal representation for Trump have the opportunity to refute all of the evidence. A jury of Trump's peers decide whose argument they agree with.
