I am not trying to reverse history, merely trying to be accurate. When you say Republicans, you imply all. That is the problem when you generalize, you skew the conversation and inject falsehoods. Its the same when someone says Democrats. The best way to say it is " most Republicans" or " most Democrats."

...but for things to really change in this country -- we have to stop this habit of having selective amnesia -- that goes for both sides

I agree that both sides need to be civil and less antagonistic. I am not here to say nor have I ever compared the Obama years to the trump years or any other administration to another. I am here in the present and looking how to move forward. My statement was meant to show how a word or lack of a word could help create misunderstanding.

I won't go through each and every one, but one stands out.

Huh? Everyone remembers that everyone was saying if corporations were doing so poorly, then why are they making the most in the entire history of whatever company it is.
And there were so many loopholes, no company paid more than whatever percent it is now.
What they got was able to bring back money they made overseas. They never brought it into the country because they normally would have to pay taxes on it.
But they didn't have to.

So what did they do with all that money? Jobs? no Bonuses? no Raises? no

They used it for stock buy back.

Sure, 5 million got a small raise or a bonus, that's out of 157 million, that's only around 2.7%.

The fact they got to keep all that lawfully taxed money means potholes and unsafe bridges. Remember that the next time you drive over an unsafe bridge. Your conscience is clear. Companies that were doing the best ever gave you their burdon.
