trump needs to make 2000 plus apologies

He needs to take responsibility for his vile policy.

He needs to get every single one of those children back to their families.

He needs to personally apologize to each child and parent, explaining to them that he was wrong, he is sorry, and it will never happen again.

He needs to find a way to make it up to them.

Then he can apologize to the American public for lying to them and acting badly as a representative of the country.
Actually the kids are not permanently separated from their parents.
Why weren't the Democrats so outraged when Obama was doing the same thing?

"Nearly 2,000 immigrant children were separated from parents during six weeks in April and May, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The Trump administration implemented this policy by choice and could end it by choice. No law or court ruling mandates family separations."

Since the zero-tolerance policy took effect, parents as a rule are being prosecuted. Any conviction in those proceedings would be grounds for deportation.

We’ve published two fact-checks about family separations, but it turns out these Trumpian claims have a zombie quality and keep popping up in new ways.

So does that mean that we cannot control our border crossings and our immigration?

Myth: The parents and children will be reunited shortly, once the parents' court cases are finalized.

FALSE. Criminal court is a vastly different beast than civil court proceedings. Also, the children are being processed as unaccompanied minors ("unaccompanied alien children"), which typically means they are sent into the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), which is part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHS). Under normal circumstances when a child enters the country without his or her parent, ORR attempts to locate a family member within a few weeks, and the child is then released to a family member, or if a family member cannot be located, the child is placed in a residential center (anywhere in the country), or in some cases, foster care. Prior to Trump's new policy, ORR was operating at
95% capacity, and they simply cannot effectively manage the influx of 2000+ children, some as young as 4 months. Also, keep in mind, these are not unaccompanied minor children, they have parents. There is great legal ambiguity on how and even whether the parents will get their children back because we are in uncharted territory right now. According to the ACLU lawsuit (see below), there is currently no easy vehicle for reuniting parents with their children.

Additionally, according to a May 2018 report, numerous cases of verbal, physical and sexual abuse were found to have occurred in these residential centers. aclu.org/news/aclu-obta…

not at all, simpleton... rethuglicans should get their stories (aka lies) straight.

Trump and his drones love abuse and crimes against humanity- just ask Un and Putin.

temporarily "separating" children for questioning is not the same as taking them away indefinitely and all honest and decent people recognize the obvious recent shift in policy and protocol... which trump repeatedly LIED about.

"I live in a border state. I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart.

Our government should not be in the business of warehousing children in converted box stores or making plans to place them in tent cities in the desert outside of El Paso. These images are eerily reminiscent of the internment camps for U.S. citizens and noncitizens of Japanese descent during World War II, now considered to have been one of the most shameful episodes in U.S. history. We also know that this treatment inflicts trauma; those who have been interned have been twice as likely to suffer cardiovascular disease or die prematurely than those who were not interned.

Americans pride ourselves on being a moral nation, on being the nation that sends humanitarian relief to places devastated by natural disasters or famine or war. We pride ourselves on believing that people should be seen for the content of their character, not the color of their skin. We pride ourselves on acceptance. If we are truly that country, then it is our obligation to reunite these detained children with their parents — and to stop separating parents and children in the first place.

People on all sides agree that our immigration system isn’t working, but the injustice of zero tolerance is not the answer."

Worse, they're being held in concentration camps. Trump made Stephen Feinberg head of the Intelligence Advisory Board last year. You should know Feinberg is a co-founder of equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, that owns defense contractor Dyncorp. Dyncorp has a storied past of human rights abuses including numerous lawsuit/investigations for child sex trafficking, fraud and other abuses.

I'll give you three guesses as to who is currently a direct supplier of agents to the U.S. Border Patrol. They are responsible for providing these 'best people' that are currently running these facilities.

Then your kids weren't taken away. Unless you had a history of child abuse or duis.
If i didnt have anyone to watch them, the state is going to let them take care fo themselves? Hmmm new law or something?
"a toddlers right to survive Act of 2018"
If you were driving dui with the kids you probably weren't punished enough. Ditto if you left them home alone while out getting drunk.

Maybe you can't see it but seeking asylum is not equal to dui.
Obviously, that relatively simple analogy, is going right over your head.
Crossing the border illegally isnt seeking asylum. By law, seeking asylum is perfectly legal.
Why do you bash trump over this issue, when you dont even understand what is going on?
These are people coming through the border crossing you moron. Talk about not understanding what's going on :lmao:
Seeking asylum isnt illegal ravi. They are crossing the border ILLEGALLY
You herded sheep are using that term to make trumps policy sound worse. Like regressives normally do.
There is a difference between asylum and entering the country illegally.
Dance monkey DANCE
What changed was the administration’s handling of these cases. Undocumented immigrant families seeking asylum previously were released and went into the civil court system, but now the parents are being detained and sent to criminal courts while their kids are resettled in the United States as though they were unaccompanied minors.
