It is correct that former President Donald Trump has been unable to secure a $454 million appeal bond in a New York fraud case. His lawyers have stated that they have approached more than 30 surety companies through four separate brokers, but have been unsuccessful in obtaining the complete appeal bond.

The bond would require "cash reserves approaching $1 billion," which neither Trump nor his company has. Despite their efforts, they have faced insurmountable difficulties in securing the bond.
