"He would have worked through the whole lot – Iraq, Syria, Iran, dealing with all their surrogates..He thought the world had to be made anew....and it had to be done by force and with urgency."

Tell us something us normal people didn't know, Tony.

You guys watch the weirdest porn over there...

I was thinking the exact same thing when I say the thread title.

Then when I saw "it had to be done by force and with urgency", I developed a very graphic image in my head.

I agree re Blair, but he was Bush's little puppy dog when it came to Iraq....

I wouldnt go as far as to call him a little puppy dog. He had his own motives and was ideologically aligned with Bush enough to agree that Iraq need a reformation... Which lets be honest Iraq deserved something better, differnent/new and freedom but there was a lot of misinformation that led to the U.S invasion/occupation.

Did they ever find those pesky wmd's?

Why did iraq deserve something better?

Well as someone who truly believes believes that individual freedom and self determination are inhernet rights, I personally believe the system they had in place under Saddam robbed them of true freedom and choice... It should be noted I dont think the US should play world police and determine whats best for who ever...

And we should restore by invasion and occupation these "inherent rights" to all those in the world who do not have them?

I REPEAT "It should be noted I dont think the US should play world police and determine whats best for who ever..." While I can say that the Iraq invasion should have been avoided and was wholly unnecessary it dont think it was evil and did some good.

That remains to be seen. I really do not expect any long term stability to result from our presence there.
