    Since when does being charitable require permission from almighty government? Typical bureaucratic douchebaggery. I wonder how much real crime was taking place in Orlando while the jackbooted Gestapo was rounding up the prodigal sons.

    It's the same strain of government thuggery which fines a teenage boy and his family $90,000 because he made $200 in profit breeding and selling bunny rabbits over a three year period.

    It appears these folks did break a law. Seems fair to enforce laws across the board.

    From the "Fairness" thread:

    They should feed them in their homes and stay out of the city parks. From what I read they were begging to be arrested. They got what they asked for.

    It looks like they might have been arrested for being ugly.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpb4nwfiaPY]YouTube - ‪Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer : "Don't feed the poor. They'll 'breed.'" FULL AUDIO‬‏[/ame]

    “My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed! You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don’t think too much further than that. And so what you’ve got to do is you’ve got to curtail that type of behavior. They don’t know any better.”

    – Andre Bauer, lieutenant governor of South Carolina
    and candidate for S.C. governor

    Well, there you go – it’s not rocket science. Either obey the law or suffer the consequences. Otherwise appeal the ruling.

    I think it's more a case of not wanting them starving in the parks.
