So....private insurance companies misjudged the number and type of customers they would have for the INDIVIDUAL health insurance market. They ignored the CBO projections for costs and expected premium prices and announced lower numbers. In reality, the CBO numbers were correct...and now the PRIVATE insurance companies are making the adjustment.

Nutbags...led by the person who knows the least about the ACA ( just check out his dopey comments from yesterday ) are running around trying to kill Hillary Clinton with this news. It will not work.

Why?

For the same reasons that the lies didn't work the first time.....and never worked enough to get the law repealed.

1) The ACA exchanges only impact people who didn't have insurance from another source.....like a job or medicare. These are people buying insurance on the INDIVIDUAL market. Most of these people get a subsidy to help them pay the premiums...and that subsidy will rise along with the premium increase.

2) The premiums for people on the INDIVIDUAL market were always high...and rose every year....so most people couldn't afford to buy a plan. And..when they did, there were lifetime caps, preexisting clauses and other bullshit that fucked the consumer. The ACA basically regulated these plans to make them a better deal and made them AFFORDABLE. They STILL are.

3) The ACA is much more than the exchange. It also regulated the plans that 80% of Americans have through their employers. It made all of these plans better and has managed to keep increases in premiums down to single digits. In addition...it expanded medicaid to lots of poor people in states with responsible governors...at no cost to those states. Foolish, politically motivated governors in 19 red states gave their constituents a huge fuck you ad didn't take the expansion.

Enjoy your day.

The ACA is doing exactly as it was designed to do by the democrats. We will be on a single payer system by the end of Clinton's second term.

The OMB numbers showed these huge insurer losses and giant increases in premiums?
If that were the case, why did the Dems think it was a good idea?
Why did Obama lie and promise $2500 annual savings per family?

That is ridiculous.

The ACA is the result of the recognition that going to a single payer system would displace millions of health insurance industry workers. It will be kept....and private companies will be involved in our health care....until such time that the impact is lessened.

No. The CBO numbers showed higher costs and suggested higher premiums. The private insurance companies didn't accept those numbers. As it turns out....they were correct.

I will answer your $2500 question when you admit that it is a retarded question.

Medicare? No! Governors are not authorized to expand Medicare. Now you skipped three important elements.. the MANDATE, the soaring costs of deductibles, and co pays, and the punishment on any individual who does not purchase Obamacare. Now ewe enjoy your day you lying partisan nincompoop.

Governors can certainly prevent the expansion of medicare. Millions in Texas were left uninsured when our governor prevented expansion.

Fuck your links. This is common knowledge for those who paid attention. The CBO suggested higher costs and forecast higher premiums than the insurance companies went with. And...we are ONLY TALKING ABOUT PLANS ON THE INDIVIDUAL MARKET.

The $2500 question is retarded because you are ignoring the context of the comment. Good boy!

So it was an awful plan from the beginning and it just now is catching up to its awful beginning?

Yeah, that's much better to the family of four paying 1400 a month for a policy.
