I recall reading an article when Trump ran for POTUS the first time that a lot of people in Trump Inc. loathed Cohen. It is a chicken or egg argument I suppose, but the piece I read more or less said that Trump's people could reason with him to get where he needed to be and then Trump would meet 15 minutes with Cohen and the wheels would fly off the cart and the more time he spent with Cohen, the worse he got. It was like he was trying to out-Cohen Cohen for some reason.
