They Wouldn't Bake a Cake for WHAT?????

I don't understand why a business that's in business to make money refuses to bake any cake for any reason, but I guess if bigots and homophobes don't want to bake a cake for a gay wedding, so be it. There's lots of other bakers out there who don't care.

But a BIRTHDAY CAKE? Are you fucking kidding me?

Not a wedding cake. A birthday cake:

It certainly wasn't the text message Candice Lowe was expecting to get on her honeymoon. She says it came from the owner of a local bakery, canceling the order for her wife's birthday cake. Lowe says, "after she saw my Facebook page, she found out that I was in a same-sex marriage and she could not do my cake." ... The couple was just married two weeks ago and are still on cloud nine after celebrating with their son, family and friends. But that all came crashing down. In some ways, they say, it's like taking two steps back. "It wasn't a wedding cake, it was just a birthday cake [for my wife, Amanda]," Candice said. "A birthday cake has nothing to do with your sexual preference."

Religious conservatives have been aggressively pushing for laws that would legalize discrimination against same-sex couples. They insist they need these hateful carve-outs—they need a special right to discriminate—because otherwise they will be compelled to participate in same-sex weddings, this is contrary to their "sincerely held religious beliefs" forbid, Jesus will have a sad, they will go to hell, etc. But it's not just our weddings they object to—it's our existence. Refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding says, "I don't think you people should be able to celebrate or solemnize your relationships because same-sex marriage is a sin." Refusing to bake a birthday cake for a lesbian says, "I don't think your birth is something to celebrate because the world would be better off if you didn't exist."

Welcome to America — where bigoted bakers do background checks to avoid selling cakes to lesbians (because Jesus) but we don't require merchants at gun shows to do background checks to avoid selling weapons of war to crazed terrorists, abusive spouses, and the mentally ill (because freedom).

Oh. I bolded the last sentence because, yeah. Really.

Go back into the closet where you belong, freak. Things were much better in society when you abnormal freaks hid.
Ya know....I am friends or acquainted with gay people who are perfectly normal every day folks who just want to be left alone. And one thing that bothers them is these fringe kooks who claim to be part of the same community, but insist on being in constant conflict. That there is always a battle. And if the battle does not exist, create one. Anything to gain the attention of the public.

Problem is, those in constant conflict are the ones allowing these "perfectly normal every day folks" to actually be left alone. Without the fight, there wouldn't be any being left alone.

I own a business and take my responsibilities seriously when it comes to equal access. Heck, I even had a disturbed individual show up one day with a van absolutely plastered with pro-Palestinian bullshit and wore a cap with all sorts of pins with offensive messages. I gritted my teeth and dealt with the sick fuck.

When people operate a business, they have a certain responsibility, namely, to serve all people. Gone are the days when people refused to serve blacks or Asians or Irish or Polish, and that's a good thing.

About the only leeway I would give a baker would have to do with message. They should not be required to write a message on a cake they do not endorse. If they write a message for one person, however, they should write it for another and that includes "happy birthday" or "best wishes".

If somebody demanded they write "good luck with your gay marriage", show a gay couple kissing or anything similar, I would support their right to refuse. if it is just a matter of a birthday cake, they are crossing the line when it comes to the abandonment of the responsibilities that come with operating a business.

And perfectly legal in Ohio.

BUT- if the Baker had refused to bake the cake because the couple were Christians.....well that would get the bakery in trouble.

Yes- all part of the ongoing attack Christianity......
No. Christians would go to another bakery instead of whining.

Since Christians have shown a tendency to whine when being asked to follow the law and bake a cake- the evidence doesn't support your claim.
Did they ask a lesbian to bake them a cake and then cry about it?

No they started their own bakery.

Yeah people tend to get upset when their freedom of religion is encroached upon, I mean it is a Constitutional right and all

Thanks for agreeing with me- Christians are just as likely to whine when they believe they have been wronged.

I wasn't agreeing with you I was pointing how fucking stupid you are

And I was enjoying pointing out that you are so fucking stupid that you don't even know that you were making my point beautifully.

As you pointed out- Christians are just as likely to whine when they believe that they have been wronged.

As I heard some one say not too long ago, the far left seems to have a supply and demand problem with bigotry in this country. Some how they mange to search a country of 320 million and find one bakery(OK this is the second in the last couple of years) and of course it's obviously evidence of the systematic oppression. When can we expect nation wide protests? Nah that won't happen, the vast majority of gay folks will roll their eyes just like the rest of us.

It's amazing that in the modern era many people refuse to accept that things are complex and are always on the look out for the simplest method of seeing something, even if it's complete bullshit.

Question. If I'm forced to make a cake for a homo wedding and I jack off into the batter, would that be seen as malicious or would they appreciate the personal touch to make their special day extra happy?

Only the ones creating the fights are seeking to complicate the issues to the point where they are so clouded with doubt and so vague, it becomes paralyzing.
And this is goal.
The goal In this context is to terrorize people into compliance with the militant gay agenda......
In other words, "comply or your life and livelihood will be destroyed." Example What that state of Oregon did to that bakery owner. That was the equivalent of using a shot gun to kill a housefly.
The militant gay movement used the state to issue an over kill punishment as a means to terrorize others into compliance.
Don't bother denying this. These are the facts.

Libs like to live under the cover of grey matter. They despise absolutes unless those absolutes serve their agenda.
Libs HATE rules. Unless the rules are that which they make up for everyone else who is not liberal. This is done to force compliance

These radicals create fights where none exist or are necessary.

So we should just go with the "a five year old can understand this" kind of theory, because your friends tell you this?

It's amazing that in the modern era many people refuse to accept that things are complex and are always on the look out for the simplest method of seeing something, even if it's complete bullshit.

It's idiots like you that have made things that can be viewed in a simple way complex.
Libs like to live under the cover of grey matter. They despise absolutes unless those absolutes serve their agenda.
Libs HATE rules. Unless the rules are that which they make up for everyone else who is not liberal. This is done to force compliance

They claim to support freedom and choice until the choice involves people doing what Libs think they are better suited to determine for you.
Liberalism....so good for us, they have to ram it down our throats.

Nah...Don't spin this. My friends tell me this. Exactly what I posted.
Don't try to psycho-analyze or rationalize...

If all the things Liberals said were so good for us actually were, why is it they have to mandate them being done? If they were truly that good, everyone would want to do them.

More than one Lib on here has said they would gladly pay more taxes, something they have to be told to do, if it meant people that didn't have (fill in the blank) could get it. Why do they have to be told to do something they say should be done. Wouldn't they simply do for those in need what they say those people need?
