There is a car that get's 376 mpg

OK let's all agree that it is impoosible to create a car that will function well in todays world that get's 376 mpg but if they could create a car that does get that many miles on one gallon would iut be a strech to say that they could create a car that can get 100 mpg and still maintain the standards of today?

How much would it cost to get into serious production?

 Dude :wtf:, You you just don't get it! :eusa_doh: This Opel vehicle drew heated air & fuel into the insulated crank case where it vaporized the crank oil. These oil vapors & intake air were drawn out of the valve cover & into the intake manifold to run the engine. The engine was running off the crank case oil, not just off the fuel. It would consume many gallons of expensive oil before it used a gallon of fuel. Then it leaves sludge in the bottom of the oil pan that must be removed before adding new oil every trip. Fuel oil may have even been added to the crank case oil to give it even more fuel it could consume.

Shell Oil built the engine to crack its own fuel from it's own motor oil. It still consumes the same amount of crude oil per mile as your car does now.
