There are also many, many unskilled and uneducated (or under-skilled/under-educated) Americans who do NEED those jobs. They have taken over the construction/landscaping industries as well. We really do need to crack down on these employers. What they are doing is using these people to their advantage, paying them SLAVE wages.

IMO, if you are PRO illegal immigration, you are also PRO slavery because that is actually what happens in many cases. These are undocumented and a lot of times uneducated immigrants who are frightened of the authorities and of being deported. Shady employers use this to their advantage. Because citizens leave a paper trail, have a social security number, and can be easily traced and tracked. When you have no identification in the system, that is going to make things VERY difficult and, unless they have committed a crime, the police are not going to be wasting resources out searching house to house for illegal immigrants! The best idea is to punish employers who hire them. It just isn't feasible to "round them all up." There are too many of them now. Your Eisenhower reference is absurd. That was a LONG time ago. Like others have said, it's almost as if we REWARD them for breaking our immigration laws. They get jobs, drivers licenses (under FALSE identities in most instances). I've heard of illegal immigrants coming here and collecting SSDI, when they deny some of our OWN citizens those same benefits at times. The way we do things is just . . . retarded.
