The living wage

Mainly because states are more susceptable to fluctuations in their internal economies. If you want to talk National Forests, what happens when a state is having a hard time balancing its budget and decides to sell off public land? Right now, money can be funneled from all states to protect vital lands in one state.
The whole is stronger than its individual parts

if people in a state want to sell lands in that state then it's no one's business but that of the states residents.

If you don't live in a state then you should have absolutely no say as to what is or isn't done in that state.

I'm of the mind that National forests should be left completely wild and that people should use the lands at their own risk no building roads or ranger stations or visitor centers just wilderness.

In that case...we disagree

Our national forests and parks are our national treasures and their disposition should not be left up to the whims of individual states.

Yeah. Let's leave them up to the whims of the Federal government and unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats. The Democratic solution to everything.

In my view we are not a bunch of united states we are THE UNITED STATES which relies on centralized government. That issue was settled almost 150 years ago
Our national forests and parks are our national treasures and their disposition should not be left up to the whims of individual states.

Then abolish all state and local government.

You can't have independent states and an all powerful centralized government simultaneously.

How do you know? I guess that horrible roads, police, fire department, social security, Medicare, workplace safety, national forests are just sooooooo horrible that we must never have them.

infrastructure, police, fire, medic, are essential functions of government.

Social Security is a great idea in theory. In practice it sucks.
Workplace safety....Department of labor....should be a state function. National Forests are not a proper function of the federal government. The states should have jurisdiction AND discretion of land use within their borders.
The federal government is too large and has too much power.

What makes you think the states will do a better job at these functions than the federal government?

That is NOT the issue. The federal government has no business confiscating land or using taxpayer funds to purchase land for non military use.
federal land aquisition during clinton administration - Yahoo! Search Results
Above ,you'll click into a bunch of links on rapid accumulation of land by the federal government during the Clinton terms.
This was done in the name of "conservation".
The land was mostly just sitting there as open space. The taxpayers got hammered , private property owners were not properly compensated. Why?
Yes, the states would have a vested interest in seeing land within their borders used properly.
Now, what does the federal government do well, at or under cost and efficiently?
What does this have to do with the Left's desire for a federally mandated "living wage"?
Case closed.

Our current structure of Government was decided by Republicans 150 years ago. They were the ones who insisted on UNITED STATES not a bunch of states united
