I have already showed that the chart never showed temperature getting above freezing. It was above average for the date, yes but NOT above freezing.

Here is the chart once again, hopefully you wear glasses this time:

On this chart for late February it was about MINUS 9 C (-9C) That is well below freezing.

The dashed line is the 0C line near the top of the chart. It never reached that line.

The smog in China, does not mean that the air in the Rust Belt has not improved.

We do live in a global environment in some ways.


But in other ways, various local and/or regional environments has a somewhat separate existence and can do well, even while other areas are doing poorly.


If we had a population that had been declining since the end of the Baby Boom, our environment(s) in this country would be better, and the impact of further decline would be additional benefit.


We are talking about at least tens of millions. Cities that have had massive growth, would have been steady. Cities that have has slow population growth, would be breaking up into TOWNS, many towns would just be gone, replaced by prairie or forest.

How many fewer cars would be on the road? HOw much less sewage and garbage would be being produced?

He makes a misleading case, can you spot it?

Except that link is to the chart of daily averages when hourly readings have already been combined.
We don't want the combined daily averages, but the hourly temperature reading.
Of course it is not going to get above freezing at night.
So we don't want the daily averages that combine in the nightly temperatures.

If we could look at the hourly readings, then we could see for ourselves. But we can't, so instead we have to take his word for it when he says he recorded 61 hours of above freezing temperatures through out the week.

Cells are not a life.
Most cells can not replicate or function generically.
They are specialized for a single temporary functions.
They are alive because they do function autonomously, but can never independently sustain a species.
Being alive is not at all the same as being a life.

Sperm and ovum are alive, but are not a life.
After they combine and form a fetus, they are still not a life because they are not independently viable.
They are nourished, protected, and heated by the host mother.
That is why historically you did not permanently name children until they were 12 or so, because they could be considered less than a fully developed life.
