What is those things that the left want to tax to discourage it?

Evidently you don't live in California.
Oh hell no, I thought about it in the early eighties but decided not to. I used to have relatives out there but they either died or moved..

There ya go, you may have answered your own question.
The reason then was from smog...

Well, that was a good reason years ago.
California Democrats want some businesses to fork over half tax-cut savings to state

Yes I heard about the ludacris...

Guessing you live in a better state...may I ask which one?

The Dumbocrats have become so radicalized, unhinged, and disconnected that they have no idea which way is up at this point...
These are things the Pelosi/Schumer group don’t have a clue about. It’s why they lost the election — it’s as simple as that! They are so with their elitists…and [Hillary] Clinton never knew about the real people out there and that’s why they lost the election. And that’s why they’re going to lose the next election.
It takes a special kind of stupidity mixed with desperation to try to convince people that $1,000 bonus plus an increase of roughly $2,400 per year in take home salary is “breadcrumbs”.

Home Depot founder eviscerates Democrats for bashing tax reform savings: ‘Use your stupid brains!’

As they always do about all policies and issues, the left egregiously lies about taxes. The wealthy are absolutely soaked in taxes by the envious and greedy left. In order for the wealthy to “pay their fair share”, we would have to drastically reduce their taxes.

As they always do about all policies and issues, the left egregiously lies about taxes. We actually have higher tax revenues (8.7% of GDP) with a tax rate of 39.6% than we did (7.6%) with a tax rate of 91%.

It isn’t such a shame that half of the left is so profoundly ignorant of basic economics and the other half is so unethical and devious that the egregiously lie about economics so that they can mooch off of society.
One would have expected gross revenue to plummet in February once the new tax rates were applied to withholdings for this year. My withholdings dropped already for the last two weeks in January but by February everyone should have seen the effects of the tax cut and revenue to the Treasury should have shrunk noticeably. After all, on some measure this was the largest tax cut in history. Yet compared with February 2017, gross revenue was nearly unchanged. It actually ticked up very slightly by $1.36 billion.
Conservatives have known this for decades and decades. It’s just basic math and it indisputably proves the Laffer Curve. Revenues to the government went up after the tax cuts (because more people were employed in a better economy thanks to the tax cuts, which provides the government with a significantly large pool of people to tax). Which in turn, proves that we unquestionably have a spending problem and not a revenue problem.

How about that? Revenue stays the same after massive tax cut

What President Trump (and the Republicans) have done is nothing short of astounding. They have built one of the best economies in U.S. history...
Throughout the March quarter, Apple has paid over $3.2 billion in dividends, and they have plans to boost those payments up another 16% going forward. And the hits just keep on coming for Apple investors.

Apple has also announced the construction of a new mega-campus, and they’re looking at adding over 20,000 new jobs. Over the next 5 years, they’ll add $350 billion to the US economy.
Nancy Pelosi tried to call the tax cuts "crumbs". The results have not even been the whole bag of bread - they've been the whole damn bakery!!! Record highs in the market. Record lows in unemployment. Companies investing in their people and their infrastructure (just as history has proven over and over and over).

Sorry Nancy Pelosi, Apple’s record-shattering buyback program is proof positive tax breaks work

Nothing ends in failure like idiotic left-wing policy...
Amazon’s vice president, Drew Herdener, said, “I can confirm that pending the outcome of the head tax vote by City Council, Amazon has paused all construction planning on our Block 18 project in downtown Seattle and is evaluation options to sub-lease all space in our recently leased Rainier Square building.”
This also unequivocally proves that progressives lie about taxes. They claim taxes have absolutely no negative impact on businesses, their growth, or jobs. Oops. Here is a business halting their expansion - which is halting all current construction and all future Amazon jobs - because of high progressive taxes. And Amazon is an extreme left-wing company too, so this is no “ring-wing” company pulling some stunt.

With threat of a proposed ‘head tax,’ Amazon halts further construction in Seattle

Americans are also calling the tax cuts crumbs. Most voters say they have not seen any differences in their paycheck or they don't see anything that changes their lives. That is not surprising as most people don't pay that much in income taxes. Republicans tried to run on cutting taxes in the Pennsylvania special election and it was a total flop.

The fact is the economy started getting better under Obama. The unemployment rate peaked at around 10% in the first year of Obama's term and has gone straight down under Obama and Trump. The unemployment rate went from around 9% to 4.8% under Obama. That is a nearly 50% drop. Under Trump it has gone from 4.8% to 3.9% which is around 20%. You are also aware of the fact that the reason for the drop was because people left the workforce.

The stock market has stalled out at around 24,000. The reason is DONALD TRUMP. He wants to start a trade war and that is the reason. Record lows that started under Obama. We are also seeing deficits going back up under the Republicans.

The fact is that Republicans are just as wrong on tax cuts as are Democrats. Republicans say that tax cuts are the cure for everything including the common cold. Tax cuts do not pay for themselves. They can add some revenue depending on the circumstances. The tax cuts that Reagan passed in the early 80's had a major effect on the economy because the economy was struggling at the time. The tax cuts passed have had little effect on the economy because the economy was relatively healthy.

The left desperately attempts to promote the false narrative that taxing people has no affect on them at all. While even the most basic common sense (not to mention history) dictates otherwise, the left still attempts to push that propaganda on society.

Now, even the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) has come out and confirmed that higher taxes and government programs decrease incentive to work. Which is why left-wing policy (socialism, communism, marxism, fascism, etc.) always ends in collapse, poverty, and misery. The latest evidence of that indisputable reality is Venezuela.
"When workers' earnings rise but their after-tax income rises less—because of increases in their income and payroll taxes or declines in their benefits from government programs—their incentive to work typically declines," said Shannon Mok, an analyst for the budget office in the tax analysis division.
Well duh. That's just common sense. It continues...
"When deciding how much to work, people consider not only the higher earnings from working more hours but also the resulting difference in after-tax income—which is market income plus government transfers minus taxes," Mok says.

"Increases in marginal tax rates, on net, decrease the supply of labor by causing people already in the labor force to work less," she says.
Hence the catastrophic failure of left-wing policy - as seen most recently in Venezuela. Left-wing policy decentivizes production and incentivizes society to be idle and unproductive. Which ultimately leads to collapse as there is less and less production of the products and services needed by society.

Surprise, surprise: CBO says higher taxes and government programs decrease incentive to work
Is that why my republican led city, county and state want to increase taxes and have in the past, because of "leftist"?
