The ‘hunt for political extremists’ moves forward: Bank of America secretly hands over customer data to FBI

The Left lost when the Supreme Court decided that bank customers had no reasonable expectation of Privacy
It's not a personal passbook savings we're talking about. A commercial checking account is more like it — the crooks are wheeling and dealing with customers and suppliers with every transaction, and they've got SOMETHING TO HIDE from the Eff Bee Eye.

When you read the Federalist Papers, and the original intent of the Founders, the best way to look at the Bill of Rights as if it was the Ten Commandments. Thou Shall Not. Thou Shall Not abridge Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Press. Freedom to Assemble. Thou shall not.

However since the Founders died, the nation has taken the Constitution as a hurdle. An Obstruction. It is something to get around, over, or bypass. We find loopholes. We have forgotten the Thou Shall Not. And we have watered down those rights that the Founders believed to be absolutely unassailable.

Thou Shall not. Those words should be included. And in a way they are. The First Amendment does not say. The Supreme Court shall rule as invalid any law passed by Congress, and signed by the President, or in the case of a Veto, confirmed by a two thirds majority which abridges Freedom of Speech.

It says Congress shall pass no law. Thou Shall Not.

The Fourth Amendment is one we have spent a long time finding exceptions to. Ways around that pesky restriction. Until there are more exceptions than restrictions. I have always thought that was wrong.

Whenever the Police arrive and ask for information, the answer should always be, do you have a warrant? Even if it is information on one of your customers. Or information on a job you did. Do you have a warrant? Where the hell is it?

But we have found loopholes. Now, the Banks can’t say do you have a warrant? They are prohibited from protecting that information, thanks to the Supreme Court who decided that you had no expectation of privacy. We have utterly lost the entire purpose behind the bill of rights. Now, they are considered arcane and irrelevant. Because for centuries we have spent our time trying to figure out a clever argument to get around them.

That is the problem. Not the FBI getting the information on some RW types. Nor the FBI getting information on LW types. The fact that they can get the information at all without a warrant is the problem.

For a long time now I have spoken out against this. I spoke out against Carnivore, Stingray, FISA, Black Bag Jobs, and the rest of the abuses. But we as a people have not spoken out. Now, the people who cheered these actions, to get the guilty, are being targeted. And it is too late to push back. It is too late to reestablish those rights the way they were intended. It will never be Thou Shall Not ever again.

Said "bank" is already worse than condemned in that respect. BOA will not hire anyone as an employee or allow a customer to open an account in the first place without an extended FBI criminal and mental health background check.
The federal NICS background check is "instant" — and obviously used for many other purposes than the ostensible gun control. Think of an old Jewish lady clutching her pearls, and screaming, "Help! Help! We're being robbed at the bank! We need more background checks and stronger gun control laws!"

Holy shit, we are back in the Black List days. You use a credit card for gas or a cup of coffee and you end up on a FBI list. The world is upside down when Bill Ayers walks a free man after ten years of bombing and terrorizing America because they blamed the FBI for illegal surveillance. What do you call this?

Hi. Have you never heard of the no fly list?

Bank of America secretly handed over customer data to the FBI, in an advance of the actions promoted by Democrats in the United States, which host Tucker Carlson calls “hunting political extremists.

Carlson mentioned that at least one person was interviewed by agents, based on information from what is the second largest bank in the United States—with 60 million customers participated in this silent search, “without the knowledge or consent of its customers” according to Fox News on Feb. 4.

What was the Bank of America thinking?
Using as a pretext the riots that took place in the Capitol on Jan. 6, a controversial persecution was launched in the country, against alleged “domestic terrorists who must be put down by force,” apparently assimilated to the followers of former President Donald Trump.

It has involved many public and private institutions, including the Pentagon, and “the business establishment, from Wall Street and the tech monopolies, from the massive multinational corporations that increasingly control the contours of American life,” Carlson describes.

However, the lack of a clear context and definitions creates even more uncertainty and fear among citizens.

Carlson observed, “In order to root out a problem, you have to know what the problem is. You need a sense of what you’re looking for, a clear picture. You have to define the terms. The remarkable thing about this public conversation we’re having is that no one is doing that.”

They are coming for us.
Because some RWNJ rag says so?

I don't think so, lol.
Of course that's not what happened. BOA doesn't discuss involvement with law enforcement investigations, but do you think they don't know when it's legal? LOL

what a sick, deranged piece of garbage for denying the TRUTH...crawl back under your rock
You wouldn't recognize truth if it ran over your foot.
typical deflection from a typical idiot
I agree completely. You should stop doing it.
and another deflection from some asshole who dont know its ass from a hole in the ground...thanx for verifying this
