The fallacy of left versus right and partisan hackery

I came to this board recently because the last board I was on consisted of 95% partisan flaming. I am getting the same feeling this board is very much the same. Everyone is committed to a team and refuses to side with the people. I get that Fox and NBC and CBS and ABC have convinced most of you that the fight in this country is republican vs democrat but thats just not true. The red blue divide only exists to drive conflict and sensationalism, thereby distracting us from real issues. Sure there are some differences between the 2 parties but not substantial differences.

Let's look at the main policy areas and how the 2 parties differ.

Iraq War - bipartisan congressional approval to invade the middle east and afghanistan
Gun Control - republicans hate regulations and democrafts have not attempted any new gun legislation in years
Patriot Act - Bipartisan support
Drone Warfare - Barack Obama loves it, republicans love it
War on drugs - both sides agree its a failure and want to reform prisons
campaign finance - (except for bernie sanders) all the frontrunners love super pacs
government spending - repubs and dems love more spending (they just disagree on what to spend it on) just look at the budgets

the real fight should be corruption versus truth. thats the real problem for government in this country

Not a question I am prepared to answer because I don't want to shift the conversation into attacks on me from partisan wings.

I will say this, I have voted for major candidates from both parties since i was old enough to vote, I am 32. I have never voted straight ticket nor have I ever voted for a 3rd party candidate. I actually believe in our system, it's the people sometimes running for election who I think abuse the system and are a fraud to the american public.

No 1 candidate is 100% garbage, by the law of averages every 1 has some good ideas, hell a broke clock is right twice a day.

I am currently looking at 4 specific candidates. While I agree Hilary is the presumptive Democratic nominee I feel like Sanders has the potential for an upset, don't count him out of the race just because he is a socialist with goofy hair. I also think John Kasick and Marco Rubio are interesting. Kasick is very moderate for a republican which is hurting him in the primary. if he would insult Obama more and use extreme right talking points then the base would like him more for the primary. Rubio is very moderate but he is moving farther and father right just to survive this primary. Anyone with half a brain knows Rubio is lying about his stance on issues just to survive this circus.

Unfortunately the general public cares more about sound bites than policy specifics.

Which, on that note, hilary is doing a terrible job explaining her specific positions. Mainly because I think she doesnt want to get locked into closet. She is trying to stay just right of Bernie enough to not sound crazy but still grab the progressive vote. I think she will move to the center (her true position) as soon as she sews up the primary

If I had to make a prediction I think it will be Clinton/Sanders versus Rubio/Kasick as far as president/VP. which will make the debates boring as watching ice thaw. a Clinton - Rubio debate would be 97% them 2 agreeing
