Frankly, I've had it with the narcissistic assumption that gay folks are dying to get into any straight club that doesn't want them. And please, hang similar signage if you dream of excluding Jews, African-Americans or any other minority group, because that will likewise inform my decisions as a consumer.

The real problem I have is with all those underground haters. The ones who don't have a sign out front, yet silently seethe about my "lifestyle," who happily take my money and then give it to the National Organization for Marriage or the Family Research Council or some other group that will use it to try to strip me of my civil rights.

When you are in the opinion business then by all means do so.

However when the opinion is irrelevant, such as when you are buying a pair of shoes or going out for a pizza then it can be an impediment to the bottom line.

For example if our friend Sunni Man were to own a Pizzaria and he posted a sign that "Allah Hates Fags" would you be more or less inclined to patronize his business?

How do you believe his business would do down in the bible belt or the west coast?

So who exactly is exerting any "control" here? No one is forcing him to post that sign.

Who is "punishing" him for putting up that sign? Or is he punishing himself instead?

As for intimidation who is being intimidated in this instance?

Businesses that are openly bigoted lose sales. Corporations are already boycotting states that are trying to find ways to discriminate against gays.
