One could argue the US does the exact same thing. If examined the 2011 KCX program for the new USAF Stratotanker was rigged in favor of Boeing. Now, European companies are not explicitly excluded EADS (Airbus' parent company) did offer a superior product. The final decision...Boeing underbid by less than 1%...Gee..I wonder how they knew the other guy's number....hmmmm?

If the US wants to abrogate trade treaties and make noise about fulfilling NATO obligations, Europe should rightly consider developing their own solutions and strategies for their defense.
