Hispanic win: 'California can be Republican again' - Washington Times

It has more to do with the candidates than any real movement to turning California red.

This is a largely rural district. The Hispanic woman ran on an environmental platform vowing to crack down on farmers and strengthen environmental laws. The farmers in the district objected and elected another farmer.

I do not believe CA is turning anytime soon from the dems, but this special election is a start.
