Thanks Subsidies

At this moment, we are less than 24 hours into the USMB Thanks Subsidy Act of 2014 and have already redistributed over 100 thanks to various users. Posts are being subsidized with thanks in an entirely equal fashion, irregards to bigoted concepts such as merit, content, or accuracy.

USMB is slowly being turned into a progressive, lybyryl utopia free of hatred and judgement. I will make future status updates as we move fyrwyrd in our efforts to institute true equality for all on USMB.

I spit my gum across the room reading this post -laughing so hard. ☺♥

Some people are actually starting to fall for this Troll Poster.

I fear you may be on to me.. I find myself in those off moments thinking naughty things about LM... I can admit to my own lesbian feelings without shame and mostly, thanks to this thread which will protect me from being bullied here and on the interwebz.:crybaby::itsok:

You'd think it would be a thankless task....

Just what is the established minimum thanks rate?

Is it higher if you live in Seattle?

If it is not against the rules, I would like to encourage my fellow forward-thynkyng progressives to support the USMB Thanks Subsidy Act of 2014, passed by unanimous vote of the Supreme United Gay & Lesbian Youth Council on this day, the 19th of July, 2014.

I brought this issue before the United Gay & Lesbian International Effort Society because I noticed the prevalence of cyber-bullying here, an issue that the gyy and lysbyyn communities are very much concerned with stopping. In an effort to end cyber-bullying, end all forms of discrimination, and promote absolute equality, we (members of the Supreme United Gay & Lesbian Youth Council, a sub-organization of the larger International Effort Society) enacted the USMB Thanks Subsidy Act of 2014, which calls for all posts to be thanked. Discriminatory factors such as merit, sources, content, etc. will not be used; all posts will be thanked, because all posts are equally important.

Because we respect the rule of law (as do all progressives), the Act is deemed automatically null and void should it conflict with any USMB rules. So before I begin actively enforcing it, does it conflict with any rules? Are there any existing regulations regarding the issuance of "thanks" to user posts?

:wtf:

As you can see from my first "thanks" above -- I'm totally on board with this resolution..
I am honored to be the first in line to demonstrate my solidarity with the cause..

Thank you, Flycyltynn, for your lybyryl support of humyn ryghts and your desyre to end cybyr-byllyyng.

Together, we will make USMB a friendlier, more diverse place to post.

Prytty syyn, wy wyll ynly nyyd yne yr twy lyttrs yn thy alphybyt.

The thanks a person gives a post is a statement of free speech. If this act were passed, it would be unconstitutional. Moreover, redistributing thanks? Just how do you implement socialism on a message board? So, I will respectfully decline to participate in such an act. Thanks equality? Sure, if I don't thank a post, it is either because of the fact I don't like it, I chose to rep it, or I simply ignored it.

Thanking a post is my choice. Not yours. A liberal like you should understand the meaning of a choice.

If I had a dollar for every time LM used the letter 'y', I'd pay off the national debt and still have some left over.

Uh, kid ... you really need to get some real world experience.

As of today, over 400 thanks have been redistributed to needy posters. Thanks redistribution is, ironically, a thankless task, but it needs to be done for the byttyrmynt of the boards and for the institution of true equality on USMB.

However, the USMB Bureau of Thanks Subsidies must issue a formal request that posts by PaintMyHouse (PMH) NOT be given a thanks subsidy. PaintMyHouse--known variously as PaintMyShack (PMS) or ChangeTheColorOfMyAbodeViaBrush (CTCOMAVB)--has refused to take part in the ongoing myndytyry equalization of USMB and is verifiably hoarding his thanks, having not given out a single one in his time here. Because of this, CTCOMAVB is forbidden to receive thanks from supporters of the Bureau of Thanks Subsidies, and has been African-Americanlisted by the Bureau.

More updates will follow as we reach our landmark of 500 thanks redistributions.

Today marks our 600th thanks that has been redistributed. The going has been slow the past week; due to budget cuts, the Bureau of Thanks Subsidies has been unable to procure enough thanks to redistribute to posts qualifying for a thanks subsidy.

The Bureau has forwarded a request to USMB management to allow for a Thanksstone Pipeline to be constructed, running across many of the US Discussion sub-boards, thus enabling the Bureau of Thanks Subsidies to distribute thanks en masse to the entirety of the site's userbase. The Thanksstone Pipeline will tap directly into a recently-discovered natural gratitude reserve, located in and around the Pets sub-board, which currently has an overabundance of thanks.

Further developments will be posted here as they occur.

I recently won a bunch of thanks for recycling hazmat booties in the Rubber Room.
Just wondering how to declare that windfall under these new provisions.

Are there any enviromental subsidies for that? Can I be exempt on public service grounds?
Thanks in advance.
