It's hard but try to follow this convoluted reasoning. The US prosecutor is happy that he was able to agree to a plea deal with a Taliban terrorist who killed a US Medic and partially blinded a Soldier with a grenade. The prosecutor claims that he wasn't aware that there was a cap on time that convicted Gitmo prisoners could serve. Omar Khadr was sentenced to a long stretch after he pleaded guilty to the killing of the Army Medic and the blinding of a US Soldier and then transferred to a Canadian prison where he could be released in a year. What's the freaking sense in bringing these people to trial if the prosecutor is so dumb that he doesn't realize that it doesn't matter because they can't do a lot of time because the US government apparently agreed to a cap on sentencing.

By the way, we are going on four years since the jihad Army major shot and killed a dozen of his own men. The world is upside down in this administration. The prosecutors apparently don't know what the judges are going to do and everyone is afraid to bring an easy case to trial because the freaking defendant has a beard.
