Teens Sue Baseball Team Over 'God Bless America' Ejection

I'm not saying these teens are Libruls, the only thing that makes me think they are is their dispicible stance toward American traditions and had they been sitting near my family at a ballgame, my sister would have kicked all three of their unAmerica stink of Arab asses

"TRENTON, N.J. – Three teenagers who say they were tossed from a New Jersey ballpark over their refusal to stand during the song "God Bless America" are suing the minor league Newark Bears.

The boys argue that their constitutional rights were violated when they were asked to leave Newark's Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium on June 29 by Bears' president and co-owner Thomas Cetnar....

"We offered to sit with him and find out what his beef was and he asked for money," Wankmiller said. "That was about it." "

Shame you had to drag an interesting thread into the gutter from the outset with the stink of arab comment.

His comments don't get any better from there. The internet tough guy also decided to try and threaten me.

ROFL...

Well that is as asinine a statement as I've come across lately...

We can't make someone loyal to the concepts of America... but we can damn sure make disloyalty something which one wants to avoid.

Yeah, they have a right to disrespect the National Anthem of the US... but they don't have a right to disrespect the flag with impunity... The ball-park owner has a right to kick them off of his property; and you're entitled to piss and moan about it.

Christ, even I know the NA is The Star Spangled Banner...and I'm a dern furringer...and how did they disrespect the flag...

That's the problem with you neocon righties, you worry yourself about standing for national anthems and faux patriotism, and don't want to address societies real ills....bunch of fucking morons to a T........

The National Anthem is the salute to the Flag... which is played at the beginning of American sporting events... due respect requires that one rise to their feet, stand and face the Flag or the Music, barring the flag being in view.

I spent a week-end in the pokey a couple of decades back for beating the crap out of a birkenstock wearing long-haired, anti-American loser that refused to shut up during the National Anthem and choosing poorly when considering his response to my admonishment... You may feel it your right to disrespect the American flag; but I damn well know its my duty to defend it; and its one I take seriously.

There is not a single 'social ill' in the US which if not a DIRECT RESULT of LEFT-think, is amplified by Lefti-think... thus the solution to all social ills in the US is the total destruction of Left-think in the US.

Which is a cause for which I fight, every single day of my life; to the extent of my means.

Good. You are responsible for your own patriotism, no one elses and you broke the law...a law you supposedly were sworn to defend. So now it appears you have a long history of trying to force your own morality onto others.

"No one asked them to stand", now these guys being 17 and 16 years old, didn't know to stand during the National Anthem?

God Bless America is NOT the national anthem pea brain...

"My country tis of thee" often gets played as well.

Bummer. Now I have to put you in the official Dipshit category....Yet another rightwinger who's turned out to be a loon.

"Stink of Arab asses"..yet another closet racist...

I second that. Possibly liberals? Huh!

One had a English sounding surname, another Indian and another Muslim. I wonder if Frank knows most Indians aren't Muslim?

Bryce Gadye, Nilkumar Patel and Shaan Mohammad Khan.

Which one's surname sounds English?

Personally, I like "America the Beautiful".

Ray Charles does a wonderful version of that.

Despite the fact it should be the world in general, I do enjoy God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood. If any other song other than the Star Spangled Banner should be used, it's that one.

Also to bring my best "PI to the table"

SILLY RIGHTIE! THE NATIONAL ANTHEM ISN'T GOD BLESS AMERICA!

IT'S THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER, YOU UNAMERICAN SHEEP!

LMFAO! YOUR INDOCTRINATION IS COMPLETE!

Any objective reading of the article makes it clear that the subjects were booted for failing to stand for the National Anthem; who knows where the error, referring to the National Anthem as "God Bless America," rests; but it's unlikely one would toss someone out of their park for not standing during the playing of patriotic music.

The highest probability is that the people who filed the case made the assertion in their filing...

But, no one kicks anyone out of anything, for not standing to the simple playing of Patriotic Music... as there is no custom which requires such, anywhere.

And while you gals feel like ya made a point here... all you've done is demonstrate that you've ONCE AGAIN... missed the point.

:clap2::clap2: Congrats... there's something to be said for consistency. :clap2::clap2:

Actually, they were tossed out for not standing during God Bless America. It wasn't the National Anthem. If you bother to even read the lyrics of God Bless America, you'd see that it's a prayer. It's not a salute to the flag or even really this country. It's a prayer. Also, remember next time that you say the pledge that it was written by a SOCIALIST.

Gadye? Certainly doesn't sound Indian to me..could be I guess..First name is definitely English (welsh?)

I've heard of the name Bryce but I've never known anyone by that name. Mind you, when my daughter Francesca was baptized there was another baby being done at the same time. Her parents had decided to call her "Park". I hope her middle name wasn't "Abike" or "Yourass".

Park. Jeez, I am very old.

God Bless America Lyrics

Nope... they want to argue that it was "God Bless America;" and they want to argue such to avoid the certainty that they will lose the case.

They failed to stand for the National Anthem... and got their asses kicked to the curb.

They're liars... nothing more to it than that.

And while your attempt to educate the room on the distinction is hysterical, in at least two contexts and on several levels, it's otherwise irrelevant.

According to the lawsuit, the boys were seated behind home plate when the song began playing. Once it ended, they say Cetnar approached them yelling.
"Nobody sits during the singing of 'God Bless America' in my stadium," the lawsuit quotes Cetnar as saying. "Now the get the (expletive) out of here."

"God Bless America," written by Irving Berlin in 1918, was played at big league ballparks throughout the country when baseball resumed after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and has remained a fixture at New York Yankees games.

So once again, it was NOT the National Anthem. As much as you'd like to say they're liars, every single media outlet is reporting it as God Bless America. So what the fuck are you smoking? Are you just willfully ignorant because you realize your wrong otherwise?

Here's how it went down...

The kids came home; informed the parents, who immediately saw a chance to 'cash in on the RICH...'

They went to the attorney... explained that the kids didn't stand for the NA... and were summarily kicked to the curb.

The attorney, ponders how he might turn yet another dead-horse into a few billable hours...

After a moment he informs his new client that no court is going to sanction a property owner for removing someone for failing to stand and respect the National Anthem; and asks 'was there any other music played in and around the time that they were dispatched?'

To which they replied... 'well they played "God Bless America"... whereupon those billable hours came pouring into the Attorneys black-heart and a case was born...

Now THAT serves reason... tossing someone for failing to stand to God Bless America, for which there is no custom... does not.

Now if the assertion that "ACCORDING TO THE LAWSUIT" is all ya have... well that pretty well covers it.

Teens kicked out for sitting through 'God Bless America' sue team - MLB - CBSSports.com Baseball

TRENTON, N.J. -- Three teenagers who say they were kicked out of a ballpark for sitting through the song God Bless America claim their constitutional rights were violated and are suing a minor league baseball team.

The boys were asked to leave Newark's Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium in New Jersey in June by Bears president Thomas Cetnar. Cetnar confirms the boys were asked to leave but declined to elaborate

EVERY SINGLE NEWS OUTLET has said it was God Bless America. As much as you'd like to think they were thrown out due to the anthem, they weren't.

Now it's your turn to prove otherwise that it wasn't due to God Bless America.
