Sanctuary state. The 5 million illegal alien kids in CA don't have the brains to learn how to read and don't even want to since their "dream" is to go on welfare and live off the hated gringos. They only go to school for the free food.

Lawyers sue California because too many children can't read

dec 5 2017 A group of prominent lawyers representing teachers and students from poor performing schools sued California on Tuesday, arguing that the state has done nothing about a high number of schoolchildren who do not know how to read.

The advocacy law firm, Public Counsel, filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court to demand the California Department of Education address its "literacy crisis." The state has not followed suggestions from its own report on the problem five years ago, the lawsuit said.

Among the plaintiffs are current and former teachers and students from three of California's lowest performing schools: La Salle Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles; Children of Promise Preparatory Academy, a charter school in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood; and Van Buren Elementary School, in the central California city of Stockton.

One of the plaintiffs is an 11-year-old student identified only as Katie T. When she completed fifth grade at La Salle, she was at the reading level of a student just starting third grade and was given no meaningful help, the lawsuit said.

State assessments found 96 percent of students at the school were not proficient in English or math, according to the lawsuit. Only eight of the school's 179 students were found to be proficient when tested last year.

David Moch, another plaintiff, is a retired teacher who taught at La Salle for 18 years. Moch said he had fifth graders in his kindergarten class.

A lot of those kids are a lot smarter than anyone who has posted on this thread.

And they all want to be doctors. Ask them, any one of them. They all want to be doctors.

Schools need to stop serving food. Tell the parents to feed the kids a breakfast and pack a lunch for them. Without the free food at schools, the illegals wouldn't show up and teachers would not have to spend all their time teaching illegals how to speak english.

We need to ban all forms of health insurance both private and govt...If people had to pay for their own health care then

1. People take better care of themselves and when sick they doctor themselves

2. People haggle over prices

3. There is no fraud.

In reality, they intend to go on welfare. They only say "doctor" because it is supposed to impress the stupid American. How can you deny them ANYTHING at all if they say they want to be doctors.

They can be doctors. Go home. Drive a food truck in Tijuana.

Ok, everyone who has 'declared' what these students think, want, and will do: how many of you have the first fucking clue what you are talking about? How many of you know any - even one - of the people who you want to categorize, in true liberal fashion, and dismiss out of hand? This piss-poor attitude is separate and distinct from the problem of illegal immigration.

I can almost see why students are suing, but why teachers. They are responsible for teaching to read. It's like killing your parents and then complaining you're an orphan.

I thought that was strange too. Thing is nobody wants to tell the truth - that the blacks and illegals simply can't learn.

It’s a shame that so many threads turn out to be nothing more than opportunities for ignorant nobodies to vent their spleen.
