if we are simply animals whose main goal is to procreate and pass our genes down to the next generation, being wealthy puts you in a bit of a pickle.
on the one hand, being able to supply many many generations with financial security goes a long way in enabling your genes can be passed on. in theory, the less you have to work the more you can focus your time on raising a family.
however, the more wealth you pass on to your heirs, the more likely they are to become utter douche bags with a lazy work ethic that will just pass on shitty genes to your descendants. i have to imagine the original hilton would throw up if he knew how much of his money went to paris' party habits.
