Surprise >.. NOT unemployment readjusted now up to 8.3

The White House has already released their excuse for the jump in unemployment. We're still an hour away and they're already making excuses.

Hurricane Sandy did it all.

This just in,

the UE rate, reported today, is at 7.7%, the lowest in 4 years.

You're an idiot.

147k jobs were created but 350k left the work force. Seems we're going in reverse here.

He jacked down government unemployment but he hasn't announced the expected lay-offs that are sure to come when he starts gutting defense.

So this really doesn't matter a damn. He simply playing with the numbers. :eusa_angel:

The White House has already released their excuse for the jump in unemployment. We're still an hour away and they're already making excuses.

Hurricane Sandy did it all.

But in the actual report: Employment Situation Summary
Hurricane Sandy made landfall on the Northeast coast on October 29th, causing severe damage in some states. Nevertheless, our survey response rates in the affected states were within normal ranges. Our analysis suggests that Hurricane Sandy did not substantively impact the national employment and unemployment estimates for November. BLS will release the regional and state estimates on December 21st. For additional information on how severe weather affects employment and unemployment data, see Question 8 in the Frequently Asked Questions section of this release.
So the White House was trying to say Sandy affected the numbers, but then BLS says it didn't. So that should put to rest the idea that the White House has any influence on the data>

Not really. The BLS falls under a the Labor Secretary which answers to the president.

It's clear that Obama will do anything to pad his stats.

But pretty soon once the uforia of the election wears off he'll start getting more and more angry and more bold. He will be more open about his threats that he does behind the scenes now.

Great Job by President Obama

Keep up the good work

You celebrate people being too depressed to even look for work?

Don't answer. That was a rhetorical question. I already know that you do.

The 350k that left the work force didn't lose jobs, they are no longer looking for positions. There was a net gain of 147k jobs.

The numbers, as always, are seasonally adjusted as well. You guys are reminded of this every month.

Some economists say they need to scrap the current way of measuring unemployment because it doesn't take into account income which is going down.

If a worker is only working 30 hours a week they still count them as full-time workers but they also count overtime as another job created.

Gallup.Com - The Behavioral Economy by Dennis Jacobe: Time to Replace the Unemployment Rate
Full time is 35 or more hours, not 30. Overtime is not counted as a seperate job, that doesn't even make any sense.

well, let's see, Nov. 2011 86,503,000 were not in the labor force, but today there are 88,883,000 not in the labor force...

In Oct., 2012 there were 143,384,000 employed, for Nov., 2012 there are only 143,262,000. Seems to be a net loss there if you ask me.

And then you have this -
7. Does the official unemployment rate exclude people who want a job but are not currently
looking for work?
Yes
Let's also look at government employees, shall we? In Oct, 2012 there were 20,524,000 employed there, Nov., suddenlsy sees an increase to 20,559,000 - a net increase of 35,000 just in government employment, yet the overall numbers of employment is down.

I celebrate 147,000 new jobs

Did you celebrate when Bush was losing 770,000 jobs a month?

When he took office in Jan, 2001 there were 135,999,000 employed. When he left office his last full month, Dec., 2008 143,338,000 were employed. That was a gain of 7 million, 339 thousand jobs. Today, 4 years later under Obama employment is at 143,262,000, a net loss of 76,000 jobs since Obama took office 4 years ago.

Shhh! The hack troll is praying to Obama.

again, this would be the same Gallup that had Romney beating Obama by 7 points.

Gallup doesn't take fuzzy math by corrupt Obama officials into the equation.

Is it just me or did that make no sense?

Sadly, in Muddy's world, Obama didn't win. there was a vast conspiracy by everyone to throw the election for him.

Because even though Republicans themselves never liked Romney, they thought the rest of us would... for some reason.
