Plus note the words "used to". Ask your grandparents, if you aren't too embarrassed about it. I was born, and raised Catholic, and yes, they used to teach that. They still teach that masturbation is more sinful than adultery and prostitution.

I think its been well established by DiamondDave and the like that sperm that come from humans are NOT human sperm. I would like to know what kind of sperm they are.

They are sperm cells. The human physiology consists of several types of cells: liver, heart, sperm, skin etc. Until both chromosomes are recognized on the dna, the egg and sperm are individual cells.

There has always been a disconnect between the way the law treats men and women. Men have been selling their sperm for along time but women selling their eggs is illegal in most places. Remember the big stink about this a few years ago.

You really don't want to toss out "facts" as to why those who feel human life begins at the sperm and egg are wrong, but those who feel it begins after they join are right.

Give sperm and eggs individually a nice, compatible place to replicate and they cannot do it. Only in combining DNA with each other do you get "life" i.e. something able to biologically reproduce (at a cellular level to grow the new macro-organism). The additonal state of having a unique DNA sequence is another indicator of an individual life. Sperm and Eggs only hold 1/2 the genetic information required to sustain a life.
