Keeping the rich wealthy by destroying the middle class will make everyone poor, including the wealthy. The middle class is what drives our economy. Without it, the rich will no longer be necessary.

It takes thinking and the willingness to truly want to solve a problem or make things more just...Class envy, is a waste of time....calling things class envy that are NOT class envy, is equally a waste of time.

Getting to a solution for the terrible mess we are in, is going to be a give and take on everyone, not just the wealthiest...

already Smokers are PAYING FOR the SCHIP program expansion with higher taxes imposed on them....did anyone really complain about their taxes being raised to pay for someone elses kids health care costs? NO of course not. I didn't really complain much about it either, because it was "someone elses' tax"....same with raising the taxes some on the wealthiest....they will pay some more as well....

And none of these mediocre tax increases will come even close, to being a solution for the mess we are in with our national debt...

I heard on the news yesterday in a Warren Buffet interview, that the TOP 400 Richest people in the united states, paid only 17.7% in taxes on their income....you can call this statement as class warfare, when it is only meant to be the truth and FACT. How do you explain this away....going from a 35% tax bracket to only really paying 17%, while those only making a million a year or $300k a year end up paying closer to 25%....WHY? Does WHY ever come in to your mind? Do you honestly see this as fair to those in the upper middle class or lower wealthy class to be paying a higher percentage in taxes than those who net $2 BILLION a year? I don't see it as fair and I don't see it as class warfare, only as an injustice that should be addressed.

Mr Buffett said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent. Mr Buffett told his audience, which included John Mack, the chairman of Morgan Stanley, and Alan Patricof, the founder of the US branch of Apax Partners, that US government policy had accentuated a disparity of wealth that hurt the economy by stifling opportunity and motivation.

There is absolutely NO WAY possible that 5% of this nation aka the over 250K crowd will be able to pay down the deficit--while giving you a tax break--pay for your health care & pay for an additional 1 trillion in new spending.
