So Precisely How Is A Question About Citizenship "Political"?

The immigration issue just keeps showing how the Democratic Party has a political goal to make White Voters the minority ASAP.

Are you suggesting it could be why they throw a hissy fit when Russians attempt to interfere with our elections ...
But bend over making sure illegal immigrants can have a tangible result on our elections by directly influencing Representation ... :dunno:

the census, and an accurate account of people in each state, is used for several other purposes....

as example, how many vaccines the fed gvt needs to have on hand to ship to each region for some sort of epidemic....

An accurate census count is important.....

That's fine ... If they want to be counted ... The census allows for that even with a citizenship question.
If they don't want to answer ... Tough shit ... Oh well.

.
No, it is not "fine", we need to have as accurate count as possible...that is the mission of the Census Bureau....and all other agencies that may use the information for other purposes.... we need apple to apple comparisons as well, to understand the statistics.

We have a 100% right to know how many people are in our country illegally.
yep, but you won't get it by doing this measure on the census.... this only leads to INACCURACY..... it won't give you any kind of account of how many illegals are here.....

You'll have to use an accurate means of finding out....

If you have a problem with people who don't want to give an accurate answer to the questions asked ... Tell them about it.

If you want to offer services to illegal immigrants at taxpayer expense ... That power is not granted to the federal government in the Constitution.
If the illegal immigrants don't like the fact they live here, and aren't provided for like a legal citizen ... They can carry their ass back home ...

.

What about people living here to work on a visa? Or legal immigrants who are not yet citizens? Maybe those things did not apply when the Constitution was written, but there are plenty of people here LEGALLY who cannot vote. (Also including convicted felons, in some states)

Asking a question in regards to citizenship does not particularly mean that you are not counted ... It is a statistical representation of your count.
None of which negates the ability of Congress to require that statistical data in the count (census).

If you want to discuss whether illegal aliens should count towards Representation ... Why should they?

.
The problem is when ICE is going full bore to remove illegal aliens (I'm not saying whether that is right or wrong) the question WILL very much cause illegals not to answer the census at all, meaning they are not counted at all. THAT is the problem.

ICE doesn't have anything to do with the question I asked you.

What you see as a problem is whether or not foreign agents (illegal immigrants) will answer a census question.
That doesn't present a problem at all ... They answer it or they don't ... If they are illegal immigrants, that's their problem.

My question was ... "If you want to discuss whether illegal aliens should count towards Representation ... Why should they?"

.
they can simply answer yes, they are all citizens, everyone can answer yes....and no one will know the difference...

how can it be enforced to answer correctly? some kind of Gestapo Force?

An illegal immigrant is not a legal citizen ... And if they don't want to answer s simple question, they can go back home ... It's not complicated.
I don't have a problem with them asking the question ... Any problems you have with enforcement are your problems.

RGS

Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.

But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.

ONE- all persons get counted in the census

TWO-none of the males eligible to vote, can have their votes abridged or reduced in value

THREE-if they are not eligible to vote due to being a traitor or an egregious crime, their names are to be removed from the eligible voter count, on the census

The censuses prior to 1850, listed only head of household names of men. And check marks for tallies of others present in your household by age group.....

THEN, there is a spot that you mark with how many men, over the age of 21, are in your household, for the census voter registration list count.

And THIS is the census list for voting, that men denied their right to vote for being a traitor etc, need to be taken off of.....

Obviously, in the issue of voting, they don't count toward Representation. The objection and the actual impact of them not being counted is the stuff I brought up. You can ignore it if you like.

More of the usual nonsense.

“This untimely, unnecessary, and untested citizenship question will disrupt planning at a critical point, undermine years of painstaking preparation, and increase costs significantly, putting a successful, accurate count at risk,” Gupta, now the president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, said in a statement. “The question is unnecessarily intrusive and will raise concerns in all households – native- and foreign-born, citizen and non-citizen – about the confidentiality of information provided to the government and how government authorities may use that information.”

Idiots. Citizenship status is not confidential.

the constitution requires that the census count "people"... not citizens. why? so the southerners could count slaves.

now live with it.

I thought you righjtwingnut hacks were all about taking the constitution literally.

I guess that's except for when you want to harass brown people.

Indeed.

It does not say that citizens cannot be designated in the count, as are race, marital status, number of children in household, etc.

Now live with it.

Everyone, illegal, legal non citizens, and citizens can simply check YES to being citizens.....

WHY do you want it separated by citizen vs non citizen if the counts have been proven to give inaccurate counts when that question is asked?

So ... Your concern is more about your desire to aid illegal immigrants in evading ICE ... Why would I chose to ignore that ... :dunno:

I thought you righjtwingnut hacks were all about taking the constitution literally.

I guess that's except for when you want to harass brown people.

The Constitution and the Supreme Court give Congress the authority to conduct the census and to include more statistical data than a simple enumeration.
If you find our Constitution and laws to be harassing ... You can either vote in hopes of changing them legally if you are a legal citizen ... Or leave if you are not.

.

blah blah blah blah blah....

they simply will answer yes.... what's the punishment?

Blah-Blah-Blah ...

I didn't say anything about punishment ... But, since you seem to have a problem with it, what do you suggest the punishment should be?
Furthermore ... Why would any legal citizen want to lie about their immigration status?

If you want to make the case the illegal immigrants are liars and shouldn't be trusted ...
I think you have already attempted to make that case more than once in this thread ... Although that's really not going to help your argument any.
