during the 1970's the anti smokers whine was: "we just want you smokers to stop smoking on airplanes", look where that has led us, bans everywhere and anyone who prefers to smoke is looked upon as some sort of criminal or worse..., a MURDERER !!

i would bet if the libertards here AND across the entire U.S.A. would vote to execute all smokers the vote would about 78% in favor.
Seems to be working out well for everyone

Even the smokers are benefitting

Still haven't seen anything that proves second hand smoke causes cancer.....
Maybe we need to study it another 20 years or so

So, you've got nothing. That's cool. I don't smoke- I think it's gross. But I've breathed in plenty of second hand smoke in my life. I haven't seen any proof that simply breathing in a few wiffs of second hand cigarette smoke has hurt anyone. Other than a few whiny c#nts who hate freedom.......

"I'm not coming out while post 406 is still there! Make it go away!"

Denialism is some sad sack shit.

No...actually you have nothing

We are well aware of the dangers of cigarette smoking and your 1960s "you can't prove" gets you nowhere

Much of the damage can be reversed, even after such a long time. I smoked for 32 years. I quit three years ago. At 51, I can run a 5k in under 22 minutes. I run about 25 miles per week. My risk for lung cancer will always be slightly greater than that of a lifetime non-smoker, but compared to a smoker, my chances are minuscule.

Your lungs regenerate - which is good..

Your heart does not. The damage you did to your heart by smoking is irreversible.

Secondary smoke can cause cancer. Liberties are 2 sided. Not just Nihilism. :eusa_hand:

I don't smoke. I detest the smell of smoke, it makes me gag.

But the Secondary Smoke thing is bullshit - and EVERYONE knows it.

And none know it better than all those studies in 406.

Oh wait... that would be the opposite. Oopsie.

Curses. Rachel Carson Syndrome strikes again.

Pogo;

Did you know that

  1. Conclusion
  2. Study to support
  3. Fabricate evidence.
Is actually not the scientific method?

It's the Rachel Carson thread all over.

And of course you're

Actually yes I did know that. I've sat through more medical lectures and studies and papers than there are posts in this thread.

Did you know that Ipse Dixit was not the name of a '60s girl group?

What can I say --- it's the caliber of the resistance. Like an overcooked noodle. Sometimes it's a sleepwalk. :dunno:

I lived in Vegas for years, and gamblers are also smokers. You can not go into a casino and expect to come out no reeking of stale tobacco. In fact, the casino down here in Southern AZ is so thick with smoke that only a truly dedicated smoker could stand to be in there for more than a few minutes. For all practical purposes, smokers have made it impossible for non smokers to enjoy the casino. Well, the Indians own it, and smokers have the legal right to enjoy it, but I can easily pass up going to a casino. That is not true of grocery stores, and other public places.

If you ever spent much time in a casino, you will see people smoking, who are also pulling around wheeled oxygen units for their COPD. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

Just about everywhere I go I see overweight people sucking on a 128 oz. diet coke and pounding down 15 twinkies, let's ban them from that grocery store you were speaking of.

Good lord, grow a pair people

A tubbo eating Twinkies affects people around him -- how again?

Smokers can pollute whatever they want --- of their own lungs. Nobody in the world begrudges them that.

Pair of lungs?

I don't get your point.

But they do not force anyone else to drink soda or eat twinkies

They exhale and say......breathe my filth

In a cigar bar?

You have a low tolerance for the concept of force
