Why 2016 candidates should worry more about China - CNNPolitics.com
Does China have a chance to become a real superpower? China has more than a billion people but most of them live in squalor; it might be performing quite well economically but it is very far from being a successful country. I'm sure it will become a major threat to America in the next couple of decades. They pretend to be our partners but all those hacker attacks make me feel quite uneasy.

They don't trust us just as we don't trust them. Think we haven't been hacking into their systems? As for China becoming a super power, of course they will be a super power. They will soon have the biggest economy in the world, and once they figure out that they can really grow their economy by selling all those products they manufacture to their own people, then look out. I think the biggest thing holding them back now is the fear that those who control the politics and government currently will lose control if the middle class grows too much. It's going to happen eventually and it will lead to a stark change in their government, but it is likely to be gradual rather than by revolution.

our massive debt loans are held by the chinese

Looks like Chinese economy is collapsing anyway according to the latest news, people become disillusioned with communism. I hope the US economy won't crash together with the Chinese one.

As a Chinese, I'd say you are right about the China economy, and it's really in speedy crashing, and it's the way it has to be. If China's dictatorship economy could even be successful, all the economics text books have to be burned to ash! But I think that China's crashing would be a good news for the US and world economy since people don't have to compete with billions of slaver labors, and a rebuilt market economy in new China will become a really huge market for US products.

U.S. debt with China is a little of 1 trillion dollars, about the same debt the U.S. has with Japan.

Relax chicken littles.

No! We should worry more about what two gays or lesbians are going to do in their own private homes and in their own bedrooms because you know.....it's against God's laws to sleep with another person of same gender!:beer::beer::beer::beer:

That sure is what libs worry about. We need not concern ourselves with 18 trillion dollar debts, us/ukraine/russia tension, 95 million unemployed. Naw, let's focus on gay stuff, smoking fatties, and he/she jenner.

Its hard for a conservative to figure out how anyone can walk and chew gum at the same time. This skill is still beyond their ken.

Its hard to see where to fit China into Obama's Legacy of Doom. Whoever tries to clean up his mess will face:

1) Lunatic Persian Muslims with Nuclear Weapons;
2) Lunatic Arab Muslims with Nuclear Weapons;
3) A Mullah or an Ayatollah or a Grand Mufti with access to his country's fissionable material...waking up one morning thinking Allah told him in a dream that he, Allah, would like to see how long it will be before New York recovers from a dirty bomb;
4) A Deficit which has us on tract to be Greece bowing to our creditors--like Communist China & Oil Rich Islam;
5) A Mexican invasion (with the help of some treason on the inside--treason for votes);
6) Putin collapsing NATO;
7) A massive and arrogant and oppressive Federal Bureaucracy which stifles freedom, initiative and innovation at every turn, in furtherance of a Socialist Policy implemented by pretend Democrats.
8) Too many people living on the Federal Plantation taking in free stuff;
9) A Liberal Media as reliable to the Democratic Party, as Pravda used to be to the Politburo.

Sir, I told you that I would work with you to try to help diagnose your cornucopia of personality disorders.
But I can't do it. You don't have enough depth for analysis, plus you won't tell me what Socialists/Progressive Grievance Group you belong to...though I suspect Homosexual....and finally, you are just boring.

"You are a mist that appears for a little time, and then vanishes." That's from the Bible, James as I recall, and of course it applies to us all, but it goes double for you.

Today we would say that your opinions are like a fart in the wind, an annoyance if we allow them to be, by reading them, but quickly forgotten.

I think I am going to have move you to the Ignore Ward. No, I'll give you a few more chances, but you really must learn that simply calling a person's post "DELUSIONS" is not the way to win a battle of ideas.

There is one progresso/whackjob who comes on and just says:

But liberals can't do that either. His is right. The only thing you care about is gay sex. For some reason liberals are obsessed with sex. Looks like gay marriage is the biggest problem in the world (in the mind of a liberal).

Rand says China might eat our lunch...

RAND report: Chinese military could challenge U.S.
Sept. 18, 2015 -- A new report by global policy think tank RAND Corporation says the U.S. Armed Forces would face a considerable challenge in a hypothetical conflict with China's army.
"Over the past two decades, China's People's Liberation Army has transformed itself from a large but antiquated force into a capable, modern military," the report reads. "Its technology and operation proficiency still lag behind those of the United States, but it has rapidly narrowed the gap." The 430-page report, written by 14 academic scholars, explores 10 areas of operation and lists a "scorecard" for each. Two scenarios were analyzed for each operation area, including an invasion of Taiwan and a Spratly Islands campaign.

One of the key findings in the study was China's ambitious expansion of military capabilities since 1996. While the country's forces don't have the same geopolitical influence as the United States, the force would be able to mount a strong defense on its immediate periphery. U.S. forces do retain an advantage, however the speed by which China was able to improve its own capabilities is significant. RAND's report recommends U.S. policymakers ensure military planning for potential military operations in the Pacific theater be as dynamic as possible, with a focus on building sustainable bases and less emphasis on large aircraft carriers. "Western governments and commentators should make it clear to China that aggression would carry immense risks," the authors write. "They should also engage China on issues of strategic stability and escalation."

Over 12,000 soldiers and hundreds of tanks, ballistic missile launchers, amphibious assault vehicles, drones, fighter jets, helicopters and other military equipment participate in a massive parade marking the 70th anniversary of victory over Japan and the end of World War II in Beijing on September 3, 2015. Presiding over the extravaganza, President Xi Jinping, China's most powerful leader in decades, said that China would remain committed to "the path of peaceful development" and unexpectedly vowed to cut 300,000 troops from its 2.3-million strong military - the world's largest.

U.S. concerns over China's rapid increase in military capability and activity have been growing. In a statement in May, the U.S. Department of Defense reported Chinese technological advancements had "the potential to reduce core U.S. military technological advantages." The Defense Department went on to note that China's defense budget increases about 9.5 percent a year. Earlier in September, the Chinese government celebrated its Victory Day with a parade featuring 12,000 Chinese troops marching near Tianamen Square, brandishing new weapons, armored vehicles and aircraft. The event was held to commemorate Japanese surrender, bringing China's involvement in World War II to an end.

Other technological advancements include the production of drones, similar to those used by the United States, and short takeoff vertical landing aircraft. Recently, the Chinese military has been notably active in establishing itself in the South China Sea. Satellite photos released by the Center for Strategic and International Studies revealed China resumed military construction in the region, despite promising to halt the operation in August. President Obama is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss U.S.-China relations and a number of other issues at the end of September.

WTF is wrong with you. You think anyone gives a rats ass about 'ignore'? Don't say it, do it.

See how easy it is?

I choose whether to respond with a word, a sentence, or five paragraphs. Again, don't hesitate with anyone here, pack your ignore box full and stop your whining Newman.

The only place the Chinese could compete with us is in a land battle, much as they did during the Korean war, and with missile tach. Their navy is crap, their airforce is mediocre, their pilots suck.

But when you can muster a 20 million man army you have a chance for success on the ground.
