Should Corporations be writing American Law?

What part of free speech do you have a problem with?

What problem do you have with a democratically elected government? Oh and wealth is not speech.

The USSC says wealth is free speech <kinda>. Its their wealth and they can do with it whatever they want. Voters can be influenced many ways. Look at the propaganda on MSNBC for example. They are not "fair and balanced" <g>

Neither is FOX.

But what other sort of government can you think of where wealth determined policy?

Believe me..the founders were not in favor of that.

In fact..they had a huge revolution over it.

ALEC Exposed: The Koch Connection

ALECWATCH

Hundreds of ALEC’s model bills and resolutions bear traces of Koch DNA: raw ideas that were once at the fringes but that have been carved into “mainstream” policy through the wealth and will of Charles and David Koch. Of all the Kochs’ investments in right-wing organizations, ALEC provides some of the best returns: it gives the Kochs a way to make their brand of free-market fundamentalism legally binding.

Starting in 2010, the progressive moment has poured more and more resources into understanding and publishing the facts about heretofore-obscure conservative groups. The religious right? That's so 2007. The mission now is exposing the connections of Koch Industries, the origins of libertarian legislation in various unglamorous think tanks, and the corporate sponsors who make it possible.

The Republican Base supports corporations writing legislation. Amazing. They care about freedom. Look how hard they are trying to sell ours.

Should the ignorant be rewarded and patted on the back for being stupid?

I mean the present republicans have made their respect for the Bill of Rights known this entire time, and their respect for a republic known.

Shouldn't corporations have a voice? Libs postulate about the concept of freedom but they have no intention of allowing certain elements of society to have the same influence in congress as unions or the communist party.

No lobbyists should write bills, only congress should do that.
I have seen bills submitted that the submitter did not even know what was in it.

I was once told by a certain Senators office to "write the legislation and we'll see what we can do with it". Like I would know how to write legislation? Isn't that what they get paid for?

The money men formulate legislation with the legislators and the legislators take that back and introduce it into their government body. Then the money tell the other legislatures that this is what they want instituted and since all legislators are indebted to the money men they obey. Hence we are in the situation we are today.

No and neither should marxist community organizers......

marxist community organizer

What does that mean exactly?

The only way is to have grass-roots movements like the Tea Party. Then watch them like hawks to see if they flip to the dark-side.

LOL...you said the tea party was grass roots! That was funny, you deserve a pos rep.

I think we should have leftwingers who have no business degree, never ran a business, and probably never had a real job write business law.

The Tea Party was never grass roots. It was funded by Freeworks, FOX and the Chamber of Commerce.

I guess it makes it easier for your to rationalize demagoging people who are sick of government's policy of confiscate, borrow more and spend us into the ground by believing that

No wonder Cheney let oil co's write the Bu$h II *cough* "energy" policy  Another one to keep an eye on is the mercatus center:
Mercatus Center - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Mercatus Center was founded by Rich Fink, former president of the Koch Family Foundations, which funds a network of market-oriented think tanks and advocacy groups. Originally it was called the Center for Market Processes and established at the Rutgers University. After the providing of several millions dollars to the George Mason University from the Koch Family it moved to George Mason in the mid-1980s before assuming its current name in 1999.[2] The Mercatus Center is entirely funded through donations, including from companies like Koch Industries[3] and ExxonMobil[4], individual donors and foundations.

The Tea Party was started by Rick Santelli on MSNBC with one of his rants like that movie "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore". The ones who say Fox, FreeWorks, and C of C started it are leftist spinners. The entire point is to stop borrowing 43-cents of every dollar spent and to stop raising taxes for wasteful spending.

The Tea Party is in-fact a grassroots movement with reps from both parties who want the government to get back to Constitutionality. Fox may be a good forum for promoting conservative policies.

MSNBC and CNN are propaganda outlets who never have conservatives on to debate their moronic policies.

Yes, the tea party was started by a guy on a big ol mean liberal news organization.

Yes, the tea party is a croup of regular ppl who just so happened to have a bus custom designed to represent the tea party. That regular guy is lobbyist Dick Army. With a regular group of citizens that started Freedom Works just for the tea party.

You just cannot believe so many contradictory things at the same time and be considered rational.
