Kinda dumb to base today's beliefs on what was common 150 years ago.

The topic is not about todays beliefs vs. the beliefs of other generations...the topic is the colonization of Africa by African-Americans....is it feasible, wouuld it help African-Americans, would it help America, how could it be done....is it even possible?

maybe , ok with me Ace . The leaders would probably be good men as I don't see a 'j Jackson' or 'al Sharpton' going so i'm thinking more on the lines of a Sowell or a Ben Carson types . Yeah , ok with me although I have no problem with good blacks or whites or anything else here in the USA . The only thing might be the ongoing financial support . Maybe some financial support to start but ongoing , how long is ongoing financial support going to be Ace ??

First of all one must consider the enormous cost to America of supporting a minority here that has so many problems...not even to mention the incarceration of so many of them and the huge,huge costs associated with that.

Thus, it might be more economical to support them over there than over here....it would have to begin on a very small level...it would take years and years to make this sucessful....I think a viable African-American Colony could be established in a relative short time frame if handled right and it would be a model for all those to follow....similar to how the Kibbutzim in Israel eventually made that nation a success.

What makes you think loads of African Americans want to return to Africa? They can do so now if they so choose; however, I am not seeing a very large effort to make such endeavor come to pass.

Oh, I know. A portion of my family, myself included, are Iroquois Indians and we fit in quite nicely as well.

I've been to Monument Valley. The only people there are tourists, a few sober Indians running tourist shops and a lot of buttes.

--------------------------- I think so , looks like most of my Chippewa's that I refer to have accepted Western Civilization and like it . Course there are some hardcases and I mostly understand them and agree with them in many instances . BUT , for the good of most Chippewa's they have mostly accepted the way things are . ------- my first girlfriend Theda a Chippewa and Frenchie partly owns a Casino , went to college , is good looking and heck I and our kids would have all that cash flowing our way as well as her way . Course that's 50 years ago and who knows , I may have ended up being Scalped Pogo !!

I've been to Monument Valley. The only people there are tourists, a few sober Indians running tourist shops and a lot of buttes.

I only mentioned Kyenta because it was the only town I could think of on the Navajo reservation. The reservation covers a large area around there. I should have mentioned Ganado or one of the other towns. I hired some locals when I did some work there. When the job was over, I took them to Mexican Hat and fed them steak and got them drunk. That was one of the strangest nights of my life.
