"The president has pledged to start pushing his immigration plan in Congress this month. Whatever the details, the outlines are known to everyone — amnesty for most illegal immigrants plus increases in future immigration (in the form of guestworkers or regular immigrants or both), in exchange for promises of future enforcement, such as mandatory E-Verify and the like.

Following up on my piece on the home page today, I’d like to ask conservative supporters of the president’s immigration stance one question: Do they actually believe the Obama administration will enforce the immigration laws once the illegals already here have been legalized? If so, what is your basis for that belief? And if not, how can you support a deal that exchanges amnesty for future promises of enforcement?"

Serious Question for Amnesty Backers - By Mark Krikorian - The Corner - National Review Online

Nowhere in the president’s immigration reform proposal does one find the word ‘amnesty:’

Responsibility from people who are living in the United States illegally:

Those people living here illegally must also be held accountable for their actions and get on the right side of the law by registering and undergoing national security and criminal background checks, paying taxes and a penalty, and learning English before they can get in line to become eligible for citizenship. Being a citizen of this country comes not only with rights but also with fundamental responsibilities. We can create a pathway for legal status that is fair and reflects our values.

Fixing the Immigration System for America

Given the fact there’s no ‘amnesty,’ the question is in no way serious, just idiotic.

Obama being smart enough to avoid the word "amnesty" doesn't mean he is not proposing amnesty.

Whatever you call it, it was one of the things Bush proposed that I agreed with. Shipping that many people back is just unrealistic.

Yes, politicians always say what they mean directly and never lie. LOL! Thanks for the laugh!

Attrition Through Enforcement Is the True Middle-ground Solution

The open borders crowd constantly tell the American people that there are only two solutions to our nation's illegal alien crisis – give illegal aliens amnesty or round them up and deport them. This is a diversionary tactic to draw public attention away from the most effective and efficient solution – Attrition Through Enforcement.

The principle behind Attrition Through Enforcement is that living illegally in the United States will become more difficult and less satisfying over time when the government – at ALL LEVELS – enforces all of the laws already on the books. It is also imperative that the government with the full cooperation of the private sector, implements certain workplace enforcement measures. The goal is to make it extremely difficult for unauthorized persons to live and work in the United States. There is no need for taxpayers to watch the government spend billions of their dollars to round up and deport illegal aliens; they will buy their own bus or plane tickets back home if they can no longer earn a living here.

Of course you can't find the word "Amnesty". You really think President Bonzo would use that word? No...he'll call on his aides to make up a clean politically neutral term to sucker the American people with.

Clayton, sometimes you're the biggest liberal cocksucker around here. You'd eat a yard of Obama's shit just to kiss the hole it came out of.

1.) Registering and undergoing national security and criminal background checks...

Under which fucking alias?

2.) Paying taxes and a penalty...

Under which fucking alias?

3.) Learning English...

REALLY?? They don't even make LEGAL immigrants do that any more!

IOW Clayton, you AND Obama are BOTH full of shit!

HAHAHA. Again i am forced to report you to the stupidity police.

For the ten thousandth time, there is no need to deport most of them. 99% will self-deport if we simply take away the incentives we give them to come here.

1. End birthright citizenship

2.. Deny all govt benefits to illegals especially free health care at
ERs and free school for illegal kids

3. Mandate e-verify for all jobs.

Do those three things and most of these parasites will self-deport.

How about "liberation".?

I just want more people willing to cut grass and shivel sh:-\t for a living to be around when its time to sell my house. That way there is SOME demand for it as it seems we are out of ways to artifically inflate our real estate market.

My opinion? If a child came here to the U.S. with their parents and lived in the shadows all their life, I think that if they either (a) get a college degree so they could be useful workers or (b) enlist in the U.S. Military for 4 years defending this country, they SHOULD be allowed to stay.

Why? How many people do you know who have actually volunteered for military service to defend this country who were born here? I've got news for you.............it's around 1 percent of the population.

If you're willing to lay your ass on the line for the defense of this country, you should be allowed to become a citizen.

If you get a college degree and become someone who is useful to this country, you should also be allowed to stay.

It's not "amnesty" if you work for it.

This is the real issue. Anyone with any sense has to realize there just is no way that we are going to deport 12 to 20 million illegals. It's just not going to happen. Even if we did, it would likely put a huge hole in our economy. There really isn't a good upside to deporting them all. That being said, these people need to be paying taxes like everyone else. We need to shrink the underground economy.

We have had workplace laws against illegals since at least the mid 1980s. Those laws do get enforced, frequently. But illegals end up working anyway. Some steal or borrow identities. Others work for cash in the underground economy.
Hammering employers is not the way to do this. You could make working here unattractive by lowering available jobs and salaries. The Obama Administration seems to be doing a good job on this front. Or you could address the root cause of the issue: wages are in many cases artificially high here because of min wage laws, making it attractive enough for people to break the law and go across the border. Additionally it is hard to find Americans to do a lot of the available work, chiefly agriculture.
But that wouldn't be satisfying to many of the American-firsters pushing to make the US a police state.

Do you mean like Ronald Reagan did?

The reagan amnesty was an awful idea but yes he did enforce the laws. He got the laws changed and granted amnesty that way. OTOH obozo brazenly stated he is not gonna get the laws changed - he will simply ignore the laws!!!!!!!

WHAT AN INCREDIBLY STUPID THING TO SAY!!!!! Nobody is suggesting we deport 20 million illegals. We say take away their incentives to live here and they'll leave on their own. Stop giving them jobs and free health care and free k-12 for their kids and they'll self-deport.

You are so dumb you embarrass the whole board.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with allowing anyone to come to America and work is our entitlement programs. SS, welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, etc. plus the minimum wage laws.

If we didn't have our entitlement systems then there would not be a problem.... Let them come.
