A great article on the two different justice systems in America depending on your race.

One white person gets off for self defense for shooting and killing a police officer for entering during a "no knock" raid. The determination being that the shooting was reasonable.

A black person shoots and kills a police officer during a "no knock" raid. The grand jury there with almost the exact same facts say it was unreasonable to assume it was someone breaking into his home. He is facing the death penalty and Rick Perry honors the dead cop shot by the black person but not the one shot by a white person.

These are what these protests are about. That black people face a different justice system than whites. That the same act by two different people yields two different results. One is deemed reasonable and is home for the holidays, the other facing death.

But I guess pointing out the obvious discrepancies in our justice system is "race-baiting" and black people should just take it. The nerve of them to think they deserve to be treated as equals.

There are a few distinguishing characteristics in the cases, but they don't seem to justifying the difference between seeking the death penalty and just clearing the guy.

Mr. Guy (the black gentleman) was a convicted felon. Why was he in possession of a firearm illegally? Had he not broken the law against felons possessing firearms, he could not have shot the intruders and would not be in the trouble he's in now.
