Jesus wept....Really?

A new study has left scientists surprised and concerned after it was found that humans have pumped out so much groundwater in the past two decades that it has shifted the tilt of the Earth’s axis. According to the findings of the research published in Geophysical Research Letters, a journal by the American Geophysical Union, the Earth has tilted as much as 80 centimetres (31.5 inches) between 1993 and 2010, which has been attributed to humans pumping out groundwater and moving it elsewhere.

Is this the "science" equivalent of Guam tipping over?

I do not believe it. At first glance.

They don’t know how to define a woman, but absolutely know that ground water removal has tilted the axis of the earth.

A giant sphere 25,000 miles in circumference hurtling threw space spinning around.

31"/ 25,000x5280'x12" is a small shift (nano % range?) Next big rain will tilt it right back perhaps? The earth wobbles in orbit i have read about. Causing weather changes.

Groundwater is 100% renewable....rain. humans don't hold it in nor store enough to make a dent. Midwest flooding will replenish it. Even SJ CA gets big time flooding which replenishes the groundwater. I am just using common sense. Without looking anything up.

Lets see, .025 arcseconds is 2.52' at the Earth's polar radius; about the length of your arm.

I could see tectonic plate shift (it happened with the earthquake related to Fukishima) but not groundwater use, that's just retarded.

Retarded or not the dems will try to use it as a excuse to put a meter on your well and tax you for your use.

Water seeks the lowest point. I wouldn't worry about it. Rainfall may move around but is fairly consistent over long Stretches. Boulder Creek CA gets 130" annually? Not looking it up.

That's ridiculous as everyone knows that water turns to vapor & then is sucked out of our earths atmosphere by the VACCUME of space, & then into that endless void that surrounds our earth. Like zillions of gallons of earths fresh water/salt water are lost in space every day & it's been happening for billions & billions of years. So how could our earth's axis be affected by a water logged surface of the earth???

I remember reading an article way way back that talked about no H2O has ever left the earth until we started sending spacecraft to space. The water on earth has been stable for millions of years, I don't think water is sucked into space or it would be pretty damn dry around here.

Extraction of crude oil did it.
