Scientists find groundwater extracted by humans has shifted tilt of Earth’s axis

Groundwater is 100% renewable....rain. humans don't hold it in nor store enough to make a dent. Midwest flooding will replenish it. Even SJ CA gets big time flooding which replenishes the groundwater. I am just using common sense. Without looking anything up.

Surface water =/= ground water.

Just a few months ago, you had said that it was the warming of the Earth that caused the sea levels to rise. Make up that small mind of yours, pallllleeeeassseee..

Oh dear. We shall all die and become mummified. Gee I hope there is someone working on this dire problem. We should send them money. It is the least we can do.

absolutely know that ground water removal has tilted the axis of the earth.
I will buy it , for the present , but what effects do they predict? Perhaps it is to our advantage . Will it better obscure Ozland when, as an English person , I look downwards ? Similarly , will water move over France and drown a few of them ?

Yet another bullshit "study" based entirely on computer derived fiction.

I remember reading an article way way back that talked about no H2O has ever left the earth until we started sending spacecraft to space. The water on earth has been stable for millions of years, I don't think water is sucked into space or it would be pretty damn dry around here.
Never heard that about space...

Did hear all water is contained here..

and NOTE I have not read all of the links provided on this thread that could better inform me before speaking! :)

But I heard about a month ago some off the wall thing that actually makes sense now, kinda.....

That the earth has shifted, that we have drained our aquifers etc enough to do so....but where it all went was in to people who are around 90% water....the water is still contained within our atmosphere but it is now in the increased populations, and those people... and where the increased populations are living, is who is weighting the world differently....?

So we found the missing water. It is us.

THANK YOU.

You are exactly right. All that water remains pretty close to where it's pumped from. If it ends up in a river out and out in the ocean, that's where it would have ended up anyway before being diverted through kidneys, showers, and people's lawns.

Jesus wept....Really?

A new study has left scientists surprised and concerned after it was found that humans have pumped out so much groundwater in the past two decades that it has shifted the tilt of the Earth’s axis. According to the findings of the research published in Geophysical Research Letters, a journal by the American Geophysical Union, the Earth has tilted as much as 80 centimetres (31.5 inches) between 1993 and 2010, which has been attributed to humans pumping out groundwater and moving it elsewhere.

Is this the "science" equivalent of Guam tipping over?
Quoted in the link -

Additionally, the extracted water which ended up in the oceans also contributed to six millimetres of sea level rise. However, the researchers have noted that validating this estimate is difficult
.

^^^^^ That's scientific talk for, "Pile of shite research, we guessed, impossible to replicate and know for sure, but we're hoping people missed that so we can go on to make stupid claims". Stupid computer models, these scientists need their computers shoved up their backsides.
