Texas has chartered its first airplane to send migrants to sanctuary cities, with around 150 people landing unannounced in Chicago Tuesday night.

The flight, chartered by the Texas Department of Emergency Management, marked a first for Texas, which has previously used buses to send new arrivals to cities including New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Chicago.

More migrants arrived unannounced in Chicago Friday morning, in the latest effort by Texas governor Greg Abbott to shift the burden from the southwest border to other states.
The bus arrived at the Chicago Office of Emergency Management after three days on the road with very few stops. Migrants who spoke with CBS News said they had been given very little food while on the journey.
