Sarah Palin: Trump's Carrier deal is 'crony capitalism'

Ok, my mistake, tell me, what's 60 million in economic activity worth to the State, in sales taxes, property taxes and so on? And we haven't even discussed payroll taxes, unemployment insurance and other benefits.

Also no one has offered a shred of evidence that UT is a crony of Trump. So where the hell is this accusation of corny capitalism coming from?

again, take that up with Caribou Barbie, she's the one who said that.

So how soon before Rheem and Trane and Lennox all come up and demand their payouts?

I would also ask how many of the parts they are assembling are merely shipped in from Mexico and China and just assembled? That makes this deal sound a lot less impressive.

There is hardly a state in the union that does not use its taxing power to attract business.
Indiana is giving Carrier a whopping $700k per per year for 10 years to keep those jobs in Indianapolis.
The fact is if Trump or any other Republican had ENCOURAGED Carrier to move all the jobs out, the lefties would be all over this....

Again, the top five executives of United Technologies make 50 million a year. The CEO Of UT left in 2014 with a $172,000,000 severance package.

United Technologies’ CEO Leaves With $172 Million Pay Package

But they JUST HAD TO HAVE THAT $700K TAX BREAK, or we are going to totally fire all these nice people in Indiania. Instead, we are only going to fire half of them.

Welcome to Trump's America, where we bend over working people to make the rich richer...

Why are any of you surprised?

Who says that Trump is favoring Carrier?
How do we not know that Trump isn't favoring legislation, ie lower taxes and regs, that would entice ALL U.S. companies to stay here?
Palin may now join Sanders in the political boneyard. Stupid asses.

Because this was a deal specific to Carrier, not all businesses, that only applied to Indiana.

So these rich companies that pay their CEO's in the range of eight and nine figures just have to have these tax breaks, or they are going to kill off your job making $35,000 working at an assembly plant.

It sounds kind of like a protection racket. "Nice Middle class job you have here. Be a pity if something were to happen to it."

You do understand Trump is not POTUS yet, right?

It's fun watching you LWNJs freak out.....

I think you'll find their appalled at the hypocrisy started by the right when Obama did it. You start this kind of shit and when others react to a similar incident you seem surprised. How bizarre...

I didn't vote for Trump because at the end of the day he is a big government Liberal that has no problem with government interference in the free market.

I didn't vote for that asshole Obama because he is a big government Liberal that has no problem with government interference in the free market.

I am not the one that is inconsistent. I am consistent with my Conservative values and being against crony capitalism.

You stupid Liberals love crony capitalism when Democrats do it and bitch about it when Republicans do it.

It is like you justifying Democrat interventionism and condemning Republican interventionism.

You Moon Bat Libtards have no moral or intellectual foundation. You just wing it from one partisan issue to another.

The blatant hypocrisy is from you stupid Moon Bats that loved it when that piece of shit Obama paid back the filthy greedy unions and idiotic environmental wackos that had given him money during the campaign by using taxpayer's money for subsidies and bail out companies that couldn't make it on their own. Now you hypocrites are bitching about Trump saving Carrier jobs.

There is one difference with Trump to his credit compared to that asshole Obama. Trump's campaign was not funded by Carrier or other special interest. groups. That scumbag Obama used taxpayer's money to pay back the greedy assholes that gave him money and that is despicable.

Most of your post is just screaming your hate of other people, so it can be ignored, but let's look at this paragraph.

This is as close as you get to an actual argument, so let's address this.

Did the unions do in the Auto Industry, or was it the mismanagement of guys making 8 figure salaries designing cars people didn't want? Because at the end of the day, that was the problem. for decades, the guys in the suits signed off on cars like the Escort, the Chevette, the Gremlin, the Pinto. They weren't bad cars because the guys in the denim didn't do their jobs. They assembled them to plan, just fine.

They were crappy cars because of the way they were designed by the guys in the suits. So while my Dad's Generation would never buy a Toyota because he was still pissed off about Pearl Harbor, my generation got turned off by Chevettes and Escorts (and yes, I've owned both in my life) to where that Corrolla is looking a lot more attractive.

(Full disclosure, I actually stuck with Ford, and bought a Focus, which has been a fantastic car!)

So Obama made A LOAN that has been mostly paid back, that allowed these companies to reorganize and kept 1.5 million jobs in the country at a time when the economy was shedding half a million jobs a month. That was actually kind of a big deal.

Trump gave 7 million dollars in tax breaks to rich guys to keep a measly 1000 jobs in Indiana. Rich guys who paid their CEO $172,000,000 to retire just two years ago, who pay their current executives a combined $50,000,000.

Your hypocrisy is blatant like with most Moon Bats caught with their pants down.

Crony capitalism is wrong no matter who does it.

As a Conservative I am against it and don't support it when Republicans or anybody else do it. I didn't vote for Trump because I knew he was going to govern as a Liberal and this is a good example that I was probably right.

As a Moon Bat Libtard you don't have the moral or intellectual courage to condemn Obama's crony capitalism and that makes you a hypocrite. It is this partisan pig bullshit game that you stupid Moon Bats love to play. You condemn Republicans for doing what you applauded the Democrats for doing. Like bitching about Bush's debt and justifying Obama's debt. .Bitching about Bush and Iraq and then voting for Crooked Hillary that supported the war and voting for Obama who fought the war for three years and still have troops over there.

It was absolutely despicable that the asshole Obama gave taxpayer's money to GM and Chrysler and stole money from the bond holders to save filthy greedy ass UAW jobs after the unions contributed so heavily to Obama's 2008 campaign. And no they didn't pay a substantial amount back. It cost the taxpayer's tens of billions of dollars. Giving money to the executives of Solyndra, who had done campaign funding bundling for the Democrats was deplorable. There are other examples just as bad.

You really need to establish your convictions on things like this and stick with it because you just look like a hypocritical fool when you poorly try to justify Democrat crony capitalism and then turn around and bitch about Republicans doing it.

Ok since he isn't POTUS then Obama gets credit for saving the jobs right? You understand you can't have it both ways? We go over this all the fucking time now. Something good happens it's because Trump did it. something bad, "Well Trump isn't in office yet..." Fucking make up your minds Rightards.

Trump did it to honor his campaign promise, but he knows the only way to stop the outsourcing is to lower tax and regulation, reform or most likely withdraw from NAFTA, and tariffs on goods coming in to the country.
The truth is some of these jobs are leaving and never coming back. This was true during bush, Obama and will be true under trump.

And the manufacturing jobs of the future will be skilled labor. No more can the masses graduate high school and walk into a $20 hr job. These are the people hoping trumps going to help them and I don't think that's going to happen. Those people now make $10-$15 hr and maybe getting rid of illegals will help raise wages for uneducated blue collar

well no cabinet post for you palin

Another conservative is calling “crony capitalism” on Donald Trump’s deal with Carrier, albeit an unexpected one — Sarah Palin.

In an op-ed for the website Young Conservatives, the former Alaska governor allowed that the details behind the manufacturer’s decision to keep some 1,000 jobs in Indiana at the president-elect’s behest, rather than move them to Mexico, are not yet clear. But touting the value of free markets, Palin signaled her disapproval if it was a case of “political intrusion using a stick or carrot to bribe or force one individual business to do what politicians insist.”

“When government steps in arbitrarily with individual subsidies, favoring one business over others, it sets inconsistent, unfair, illogical precedent,” she asserted.

Guano is now a Palin believer.

Did you read the word "if", Guano?

How much per hour are those jobs? While the big whigs get their huge increases, will the laborers get the huge increase too? I mean the people doing any actual work....how much do these jobs pay?

Nope, every day the laborers have to stop by the CEO's office to kiss his ass on the way to work in order to thank him for just getting to keep a job.

Palin has quite a different opinion on subsidies when it comes to oil:

Ah, Trump doesn't even hold office yet. Believe it or not, Trump can't yet sign anything to keep these companies here. He can talk with these people, explain his policies, entice them to stay. But that's about it.

Wrong. Again.

Unless you are a carrier customer.

Meh, not really. Then you guy a Trane or a Rheem...

My family has been involved in the sheet metal industry for 70 years now... three generations. If you want to talk about a full of shit industry, it's that one. The cost of the furnace is minimal compared to all the grifters out there who will stick it to the consumer in the middle if they don't know who to ask.

Ex-standing seam steel roofer here, and yup, its shit. Used to make about 25 bucks an hour at it to, but Dick Perry made sure those wages went down ti about 13 an hour.
