Sandra Fluke is a slut....a democratic slut that will say anything for attention.

Wow! Sexist much!????? Sandra Fluke NEVER said she needed contraceptives so she could have unlimited sex. She said women need them for many medical reasons. Yikes!

What medical reasons? Why should the government have cradle to grave?

Many women use birth control pills for things other than pregnancy prevention. Here is a portion of an article written by Rebecca Wind on November 15, 2011 .

“The most common reason U.S. women use oral contraceptive pills is to prevent pregnancy, but 14% of pill users—1.5 million women—rely on them exclusively for noncontraceptive purposes. The study documenting this finding, “Beyond Birth Control: The Overlooked Benefits of Oral Contraceptive Pills,” by Rachel K. Jones of the Guttmacher Institute, also found that more than half (58%) of all pill users rely on the method, at least in part, for purposes other than pregnancy prevention—meaning that only 42% use the pill exclusively for contraceptive reasons.

“The study—based on U.S government data from the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG)—revealed that after pregnancy prevention (86%), the most common reasons women use the pill include reducing cramps or menstrual pain (31%); menstrual regulation, which for some women may help prevent migraines and other painful “side effects” of menstruation (28%); treatment of acne (14%); and treatment of endometriosis (4%). Additionally, it found that some 762,000 women who have never had sex use the pill, and they do so almost exclusively (99%) for noncontraceptive reasons.”

Many American Women Use Birth Control Pills for Noncontraceptive Reasons

Here is another article, this one written by Janis Graham (featured in Redbook Magazine) which tells how oral contraceptives (OC) can greatly reduce the risk of cancer:

“Taking oral contraceptives (OCs) can slash your risk for both endometrial and ovarian cancer by more than 70 percent after 12 years; even just one to five years may lower your risk by 40 percent. They work by reducing the number of times you ovulate in your lifetime: Ovulation may trigger cell changes in the ovaries that can lead to cancer. If you're worried about using the Pill for too long, relax. "You can safely take the Pill for 20 years or more," says Stephanie Teal, M.D., director of family planning at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. Barring health issues, the only reason to stop is if you want to get pregnant.”

According to the author, other benefits of OC include clearer skin; lighter, less painful periods; PMS relief; and Endometriosis relief. The rest of the article can be found at the following link.

Other Reasons to Take the Pill

Who the hell are you to poke huge holes in Limbaugh's "slut" diatribe???

Everyone knows that a woman who uses BC pills sleeps around. /sarcasm off

But the male equivalent is what, a jock, a stud, all sort of complimentary words. Not so with women though. Sexism and double standards at their finest!

Wingnuts are fine with Viagra and penis pumps - but not female contraceptives!
and vasectomies being paid by medicare and medicaid? so what's with this attack on women for wanting BC pills covered on their own insurance plan that they pay premiums for??? I truly don't understand the silly uproar by republicans on this?

It's a retarded religious fundamentalist thingy... Keep in mind that it's mostly men saying all the crazy shit. It's the American Taliban.

I just heard her say Romney is a coward that's afraid to confront the extreme words of his own party.

Excuse me Mrs Payformyrubberssoicanfuckalot Fluke but Romney soundly told Akin to get out.

I really have no respect for puppets

MSNBC now has Krystal Ball on as a political contributor, and she has a show there that she co hosts. What experience does she have in politics you may ask.She got her Ass kicked running for congress. She has appeared a lot with Lawrence O'Donnell and others and they look to her to tell the audience how much republicans suck.

Now Sandra Fluke is an adviser to the Democrat Party....:confused:

and Akin completely ignored him... Probably reminded Romney that his state used to have an extermination order against his sort.

Of course, Romney is going along with a GOP Platform that has a position that is the same as Akin's... that women who get pregnant as the result of rape should not be able to get an abortion.

They aren't mad about what he said, they are mad he got caught saying it.

All women that think birth control should be covered by insurance are sluts, right Gramps?

Nope, just the ones that tell lies for the DNC. Wonder what that makes you......

You missed the point entirely. That being said one of the medical reasons young women use contraceptives is to avoid their period. Another reason is to have sex. Some OLDER women need them for true medical reasons but very few young ladies fall into that category.

Having said all that it isn't the purpose of this thread to have that argument again. She is a shill and nothing more. That is the point.

As fun as it is to go toe to toe its getting late so make your point quickly.

If you don't like your benefits CHANGE INSURERS

And if your employer doesn't offer the insurance that covers contraception? From the clip you provided, that sounded like the point of her congressional testimony--not to get "freebies" like you guys love to try to point out--falsely.

All activists are shills. If that's all you've got; you're right, you've been up too long.

Obama MANDATED that insurance companies offer the services free of charge with all policies.

What part of free do you not get?

I went by her testimony. If the President DID do that; he was wrong to do it. But if you're paying for a policy, a "freebie" with payment doesn't make it free; does it?

The policies were already agreed upon by the insurer and the purchaser. Anything added by mandate after the fact without charge additions is a forced freebie.

What actually happened was that birth control was classified as preventative healthcare and as such should be paid for by insurance (that we all pay for anyway) just like any other preventative healthcare.

But then again, that's slutty thinking. :D

Sandra Fluke and other women (and men) are paying taxes or will pay them when they enter the job market to help pay for this. So all this "free" contraception and slut nonsense is way out there and way wrong!

Some people will stoop very low to get attention!

Just in case it's not posted somewhere in this thread. Here's the real story.

Sandra Fluke Dissects Romney, Ryan, and Akin - Democratic Underground

This controversy is not an accident, or a mistake, or an isolated incident. It's a reflection of a Republican Party whose policies are dangerous for women.

There is a clear choice for women in this election.

I entered this national debate on women's rights in February, when, as a Georgetown Law student, I testified before members of Congress on the issue of contraception.

Without knowing me or my story, Rush Limbaugh called me a "slut" and a "prostitute" on his radio show.

Many Americans stepped forward to tell me they agreed with me, and supported my right to speak out without being verbally attacked. President Obama stood with us.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand? He didn't even condemn the remark, instead saying only: "It's not the language I would have used."

Sandra Fluke is a whore who wants to be paid for sex. She just wants the payment to come from the taxpayer instead of her johns.

All garbage.

Obama stood with her as she was called a name. Boofuckinghoo

Did Obama stand with the girl that was assaulted at a chik fil a drive through?

He's such a transparent douche bag.

Well Grampa, once again, the GOP are doing their best to create a very large voter turnout among women for President Obama.

You're starting to see Grumps true colors. Not pretty. Going to get worse the closer we get to the Election I'm afraid.

So you think the government should pay for the birth control for someone that has to screw everything around her?

What kind of a nation are you fighting for? Cradle to grave. :eusa_shhh:

Requiring insurance to cover it is not government paying for it.

Where did you get the notion that the government is the one covering birth control?
