Sanders Tweets 'How Many Yachts Do Billionaires Need? How Many Cars?

Well, I have to agree that the questions Sanders rhetorically posed are absurd and do nothing to bolster the point of his having asked them.

Dude, he's a socialist.

Did you say something about lack of awareness?

You do realize that yachts are a tax dodge. They're an excellent way to bring monies to the US without paying tax.

You mean something like what John Kerry did?

"Vermont magazine Seven Days reported Tuesday that the 74-year-old senator and his wife, Jane Sanders, have purchased a four-bedroom house on the shore of Lake Champlain for roughly $600,000. Jane told Seven Days that they had recently sold a house in Maine that had belonged to her family since the 1900s, and used the proceeds to purchase the new property, which is located in North Hero (population 803, as of the 2010 census). With this purchase, Sanders now owns at least three houses, the others being in Burlington, VT, and Capitol Hill in D.C."

One must always remember that the people advocating things like socialism never intend it for themselves. Just us lil folk.

Of course. The Socialist/ Communist way is for nobody to have money except for people in government.

Sanders displays the standard in liberal thinking. You should not be in a position of what you spend your money on--government should. Government decides when you have enough, and government decides on what you should spend it on.

It's the same standard they used for Commie Care. You make X amount of money, then you can afford X amount to spend on insurance; case closed!

No questions about how much your rent/ mortgage is, no questions on child support payments you need to make, no questions about property taxes or how much you need to spend on fuel getting to work, no questions about how much it's costing you to send your kids to college.......nothing.

Big Brother says you make X, then you can afford what government says you can afford for health insurance.

His vacation home was inherited by his wife when her parents died, she swapped it for a cottage closer to where they live so they can utilize it.
Yes, but do they 'NEED' it?
Well, it's hard to say... They have their regular home, in the State where he is a Senator and that is required by law I believe, in order to even run as a Senator of that State, and the row house in DC is understandable, due to him having to work there at least 4 days a week, sometimes 5....since rent there is so so so high in any neighborhood that you can safely get from your home to the Senate chambers, it actually makes sense to own a home vs paying rent for nothing that you will ever own....so its prudent to shell out a little more on a monthly mortgage, (and even less sometimes) in order to own the home as an asset....plus, if he loves his wife and wants her near him a lot, owning a home vs say... sharing a row house with other Senators, is more Wife friendly. :D

So to me, keeping your home in the State that you represent and a home in Washington, DC, where you work, is not done for luxury or as an excessive , measure.

PLEASE NOTE! I don't care one way or the other what anyone, or even billionaire's spend their money on other than my own personal opinion that comes from the Bible like on gluttony and avarice and greed and things like easier for a Camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a Rich man to make it in to Heaven kind of thing! :D

but nothing I would ever complain about in Public or have the balls to tell Billionaires in a tweet!!!

Now, as far as owning the vacation home that she essentially inherited from her parents, (only a swap to one closer)...

It's lovely up here and Vermont and New Hampshire...Maine, is called "Vacation land" as a co name with "The Pine Tree State" but Vacationland is on our License Plates as the nickname for the State...

Almost everyone i KNOW here, even my poorest friends, have a "Camp", a vacation spot for the summer, with an outhouse to do one's "business"....

It's BEAUTIFUL here, especially Spring, Summer and Fall....for the last 7 years, we have chosen NOT to go on vacation to the Caribbean and have Vacationed up here...by renting a Seaside Cottage which we have done 4 times, and 3 times at a Vacation Camp on a Lake...only a step above a Camp because it had running water and inside plumbing! HOORAY! :) both Places equipped with your own Canoes and Fishing Rods and paddle boats and firewood to burn inside or outside at a pit.... At the upgraded camp there was no internet or cell phone service that comes thru...basically these States are awesome places to vacation if you want to get away, to get away from "it all"....and you have to love Nature!

something I can imagine being perfect for Bernie and his wife verses sitting in a lounge chair on a beach in Jamaica with a Rum-runner in a glass with an orange slice and a cherry!

Well, they can easily rent their vacation home when they are not going to be there, everyone up here does that with their own vacation homes for the extra money to pay the mortgage..... probably costs less money for him to have a vacation home than to pay for a few vacations a year in Hawaii or Bermuda, especially when they can rent it for bundles of money when they are not there.... so again, I see this as being prudent and wise with their money and not an excess.

"
Bernie Sanders Buys His Third House
The perpetually aggrieved Vermont senator helps himself to a modest lakefront property."

Bernie Sanders Buys His Third House

The guy is a hypocrite and there is nothing you can say or do to change it.

Don't stop there --- explain.

Nope, it's self explanatory.

So you can't support your own assertion. Thanks for confirming what I already knew.

We know honey, you're a legend in your own mind. If the meaning of the post was beyond your ability to understand you are quite simply simple.
It would be simpler to simply simplify it for the simpleton.

Not one of the news articles have ever said inherited, it's all he purchased. But if that's the theme you're going for then why would you insist everyone but him have their inheritance taxed so the wealth can't be just given to someone like...Oh, I don't know maybe a senator who never made a dime on his own and should be the least deserving of any inheritance? Shouldn't the government get that property?

Yes it does Mike, it says it was in her family since the 1900's and was hers now...

I read about a year ago, the last time someone on here came on and complained about it in a thread....that she inherited it from her parents, but it was her grandparent's before her parents....since 1900 in her family.

let me see if I can find you some links on it for you...

Sanders is a total fraud and hypocrite. Can't Sanders live in a cheap apartment why does he need a house? He should sell all his belongings and give his money to the government to be redistributed then he can talk shit.

Bernie Sanders is a socialist asshole who bleevs the government knows better how to spend your money, and that it should. You should only be allowed enough of your income for subsistence.

This plan has never been successful ANYWHERE, though God knows how many times it has been tried.

Ole Sanders continues to bamboozle Snowflake Entitlement kooks. He's laughing all the way to the bank. I assure you, he's doing very well. But hey, it's easy to prey on folks who are struggling. Him and people like Michael Moore have made a very lucrative living doing it.

It's very easy to convince struggling folks that there's an evil Rich Boogeyman out there conspiring to harm them. Meanwhile, Sanders and Moore buy up multiple lavish estates and live the high life. It's just another scam. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the op's link on the Story, it gives you the link to click on for the Original Story they got their commentary from and in there it mentions a little bit on it....
Bernie Sanders Buys a Summer Home in North Hero

“My family had a lake home in Maine since 1900, but we hadn’t had the time to go there in recent years — especially since my parents passed away,” she said. “We finally let go of it and that enabled us to buy a place in the islands — something I’ve always hoped for. ”

Our budget problems are not because the rich aren't being taxed enough. That is a simplistic, retarded, and most especially ignorant, "solution".

Our budget problems are primarily because of tax expenditures which tilt the playing field to the advantage of a select few who own our government.

A thief comes into your house and takes your television. He is provided a police escort as he robs your house.

Bernie Sanders then gets up on a stump and says the solution to this problem is to raise the taxes on the guy down the street who has a bigger house than you.

Joe Republican gets up on a stump and actually manages to convince you the thief is helping you keep more of your stuff!

This is the situation today with tax expenditures, idiot socialists, and retarded pseudocons.

Sanders displays the servile mentality of a subject of the Soviet Union.

Not surprised. After all, that's where he and his wife spent their honeymoon.

How are we going to save the planet if everybody buys more than they need.....think of how green the nuke family was....only one car....only one person commuting to work......just mandating only one car per household would reduce our green house emissions immensely
