Sanctuary Cities = No Problem, Enforcing Federal Immigation Law = Problem

No worries, if the illegals were self-sufficient, and conservative, they'd run them outta town tomorrow.

I live in NYC and you can witness first hand the work ethic of the immigrants here. They work a helluva lot harder than I do... And most of them are VERY conservative, especially in my neighborhood, which has a lot of muslim immigrants.

They come here to work, and they work hard. You can't get on welfare if you're illegal, you know.

No dumbass, conservative as in their views and "morals". Republicans are definitely not conservatives of which you are referring to. They believe fully in welfare - only to corporations and the MIC as opposed to help American citizens. Conservatism is not a real ideal or party, but an urban myth... like leprechauns.

PeePee,

You are living in La La Land, and from your post it's obvious that your are fucking CLUELESS. Your views are as rational as defining apples to be the equivalent of chairs.....and the chances of you being any less delusional are slim indeed.

But, TRUTH and VERACITY......especially as defined and practiced by your model and idol the EXPOSED MONUMENTAL FRAUD Obami Salaami speaks for itself.

Speaking of the AZ law and sanctuary cities:

Has anyone else seen the videos released by sanctuary cities San Francisco and Houston? Their videos preach about the economic boost illegals provide, the cultural boost, the richness, the law abiding people they are and low crime rate the illegal communities have, and they then put forth a pleading recruitment speech for all the illegals in Arizona who don't want to be victimized by the AZ law to please relocate to San Fran or Houston where they will be appreciated and help boost their economy.

No? Yeah, I aint seen it either.

To take issue with the thread title, Arizona is not attempting to enforce federal immigration laws. If they were there would've been no need to pass a new law of their own. They're trying to seize control of immigration policy as it affect Arizona and supplant the enforcement policy priorities laid out in federal law with their own wishes. That's why there's a federal lawsuit. That's exactly the argument the feds are making in court, and to be quite frank, I see no way you can deny the truth of what the feds are saying in their suit.

Did you know the state of Rhode Island has nearly the exact same law in place, has been enforcing it for YEARS, and the fed has not said a word about it? Explain.

Second, this is a massive mistake by Obama. The states are frustrated, and will keep passing AZ type laws. Even cities will, as a Charleston suburb is voting to do tonight!

If Obama keeps suing them, as the fed, he is backed into a corner. States acted b/c fed refused to. Fed sued saying they had no right to. Fed then MUST act. And probably will have to do so under a 2011/2012 Repub Congress. Obama will lose 2012 because of immigration not economy. Mark that statement. He foot has just barely stepped into this massive trap. Huge political mistake.

But again, why has Rhode Island had and enforced this same law for years, but it's rarely mentioned and they sure aren't getting sued?

You know.......giving aid and comfort to someone who isn't a citizen is a crime.

If that person is against our government, it becomes sedition.

Wonder what is gonna happen to the sanctuary cities the first time some terrorist is tied back to them?

DOJ WON’T SUE SANCTUARY CITIES.

DOJ won't sue sanctuary cities...
Jul 14, 2010 ... Sanctuary Cities, just be being them, violate USC 8 section 1324. ... even if they illegals over to Immigration, these people won't be deported, ... cities from becoming “sanctuary cities” - at the cost of state aid. ...

So, lets summarize:

Aid in enforcing a federal offense: Feds will sue you.
Aid in violating a federal offense: Feds won't sue you.

Damn. Eric Holder is doing a great job as America's Top Cop.

The Dept. of Homeland Security has formally certified that Rhode Island is in compliance with federal law. The procedure is called a Memorandum of Agreement. Rhode Island actively sought to obtain an MOA. Arizona has resisted doing so to this point. Lord know why, but they have.
