Russia's New Armata Tank: The Best Tank in the World?

Russia will have the most modern forces soon while western militaries are on the decline.
The only option for Europe is to stay on friendly terms with Russia. Phrump needs to know that.

Russia's New Armata Tank: The Best Tank in the World?
Jane's is pretty impressed with the tank for sure, but with the extremely low production numbers I don't think they will be much if a problem. 132 total systems in the pipe I think, the majority if which are configured as infantry carriers. None delivered so far as far as I know.
A technical issue I guess. Read the article, the platform seems to be planned to serve for decades. Not that the Russians are in a hurry with a new MBT. They have still 20000 MBTs in service.

So they have 12 of them, plans for another 20 and NOTHING past that. And they were in a hurry, until they realized the couldn't afford it and cancelled their order. The US has developed dozens of weapons of which only a handful get made before the program gets shut down and orders cancelled.

The backbone of that group is the T-72 (saw how they competed vs. previous gen of Abrams). Then the T-80 (based on the T-64 with some T-72 features) which the US had obtained and tested against and who's only use in armed conflict was a failure (1st Chechen war) and high costs kept out of later conflicts.

And the T-90 (a T72 variant which was given a new name to feel modern and not based off a 50 year old design) which is being sold around the world.

What about cancelling an order of modern tanks to instead go back to the drawing board with refurbishing cold war era tanks that have proven not to be able to compete with the Abrams gives them the "modern force"?
They will come sooner or later and in large numbers. That´s for sure.

According to Russia itself there is no further orders for any new T-14's. Why do you dislike facts so much?

Either you are intentionally lying here or ignorant of the situation.
You´re wrong.

Abrams were upgraded to 120 mm guns in the early 1990s.
It was upgraded to the L/44.

Weren't all of Iraq's Russian-made tanks destroyed in 1 day?

Hey man, what color are Russian ships? :abgg2q.jpg:
Those were Iraqi Made T-72 ("Lion of Babylon") with Iraqi made ammunition.
And the difference is???
Those are not fully capable T-72 and who knows about their quality.
The Lion of Babylon tank draws its name from the Lion of Babylon, an ancient Babylonian symbol representing ruling power. The name is sometimes incorrectly used to refer to T-72s in Iraqi service, which were imported from the Soviet Union and Poland.

It will. Russia´s involvement in Syria has boosted their arms sales. They have presented a lot of new weapons there.
Oh yeah their arms exports are kicking ass.

Russia Remains Second-Largest Arms Exporter Despite Sales Drop – Think Tank
Russia remains the world’s second-largest arms exporter after the United States despite five years of declining sales abroad, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has said in a new report that was disputed by Russia’s state-owned arm exporter. Russia’s arms exports dropped 17 percent between 2014 and 2018 when compared to 2009-2013, contributing to a widening gap with U.S. exports, SIPRI said in the report published Monday. The Swedish think tank said declining arms purchases by India and Venezuela played a major factor in Russia’s reduced exports.

Afterall, they sent their aircraft carrier to Syria belching smoke, where it promptly lost two planes in less than a month so they had to move it's planes to a land base. I'm sure that impressed everyone in the glory of Russian hardware! Since then, in an event worthy of Benny Hill music, it's dry dock sank and damaged the carrier leaving it in a worse state than before it came in.

Russia's might carrier making good speed at sea. Note the tow line.

Russia's New Armata Tank: The Best Tank in the World?

Does it run on vodka?
Not yet. But it will.

So will its driver.
Hey, its a tank!

And the driver is tanked.

You are making fun out of Russia. That´s a big mistake. Hitler thought he will win before onset of winter.
Incorrect, I'm making fun of you.

You're an easy read man, you imagine yourself some out-of-the-box thinker and try to get attention with this contrarian mindset where you idolize anyone that is considered "the enemy" and vilify the rest, but it's really nothing more than a pathetic scream for acknowledgement. So yeah, I'll make fun of you. You clearly don't know shit about the things you're posting about, so it's somewhat entertaining making the little attention whore backtrack, discredit himself, confuse himself, get exposed, etc.

Russia is just an easy target to get your hackles raised, since you have the childish infatuation.

So this is a handful of times now in 2 consecutive threads you've been found to either be lying or putting out incorrect information you failed to realize was not real.

Is that just your "thing"? To make stuff up and pretend if you put the words out there, a fairy swings by with truth dust and sprinkles it on what you write and it magically becomes a true statement?

You've literally gone from the T-14 being the future (even though Russia itself has debunked that with no plans to buy more than the 32) to defending the T-72 as their future... Wow.

Armata, SU-57, and of course those fancy water propulsion submarines that Russia would use to dominate the seas...

Russia Cancels Project 955B - Will Build Six More Project 955A Submarines
The 2018-2027 state armament program does not envisage the construction of Project 955B Borei-B class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines but six more Project 955A Borei-A class submarines (NATO reporting name: Dolgorukiy-class) will be built by the Sevmash Shipyard after 2023, a source in Russia’s defense industry told TASS. "After the proposals on building Borei-B nuclear-powered submarines were analyzed, a decision was made to give them up as the construction of such submarines does not meet the cost-efficiency criterion. Instead of them, Borei-A class submarines were included in the final version of the state armament program through 2027," the source said. According to the source, "the construction of the new series of Project 955A submarines will begin at the Sevmash Shipyard after 2023." "In all, six Borei-A class submarines are planned to be built. They will be operational with the Northern and Pacific Fleets. When the series is built, the Navy will operate 14 new nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, namely 11 Borei-A class and three Borei-class submarines," the source said.

Sound familiar? Just replace the word Borei-B with "Armata" and Borei-A with "T-72" and it's deja vu. Maybe we look back through the threads and find BluePeter singing the praises of the fancy new Borei-B?

Incredibly low cost and capable plane but they do have air defense. Ever heard of air defense?

Yes...
When you have air superiority, their air defense isnt shit.

When.

When I was in the Air Force before the USSR was bankrupt because of its Socialist programs, their military was formidable. Yet we knew that when Rolling Thunder(not the motorcycle group) started moving into Europe our job was to get our jets up in the sky and then kiss our ass goodbye. Now the theory was for every 1 US jet, 10 Russian pieces of shit would be shot down, then when it was Britain's turn more of our jets would go up, dwindling down the threat by 10 to 1 again. By the time the Russians got to the middle of the Atlantic, the forces would be 1 vs 1 and we all knew that Russian would lose. Today, with the USSR barely able to pay their soldiers, their military might isnt even close to ours. They have their parade showing "some" equipment, but not like it was 40 years ago, not as many either.....

First link = From 2015 with lots of speculation about arms sales that "might" happen. Do you have an actual example of weapons sales as a result of Syria war?

Second link = "the actual correlation between deployment of weapons and consequent increase in sales has not yet been established, essentially because more time is needed for a proper analysis."

Third link = Lacks context or evidence, simply implying some of their sales might be because of tanks performance in Syria tells us nothing of value

Fourth link = from 2016, clearly can't be used to dispute drop in Russian arms sales in 2018-2019

When you said "You're" I think you meant to type "Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov" is wrong. He's the one who said Russia wouldn't mass produce the T-14 since they would instead upgrade other existing cold war era tanks with that money.

When asked why the orders were cancelled his response was “We don’t really need to for this, these models are quite expensive in relation to existing ones”

But please... show me Russias orders from Uralvagonzavod for more.

You don´t.
But maybe, this is a new development as Russia doesn´t produce all the fancy new stuff in significant numbers. However, even in the worst time after the collapse, arms development continued. They just had to change their policy due to Western Iron Curtain building.
